Before setting up for the party, Haru and I went to the store to get some decorations. We went to this cool shop we've never been before. We saw massive amounts of party supplies for such a good price. After we had bought a couple things, we went to grab a drink and Haru ordered a watermelon juice for me, which was my favorite. He had gotten a iced strawberry tea and then we walked back home to set up everything. We invited some of our friends and started to clean up and get everything ready. Haru started making the food and I started hanging up decorations. I grabbed a ladder and started to hang up streamers nearest to Haru and while hanging I asked Haru, "Does it look ok?" He said, "Put it towards the right some more" and so I leaned over to my right a bit and he gave me a thumbtack. I had started to press the thumbtack into wall but then I had put all my force in the thumbtack that when I leaned back away from the wall, I had accidentally tripped off the step of the ladder.
Then all of sudden, Haru caught me and we were staring into each others eyes. He soon helped me down, asked if I was ok, and I shockingly said that I was ok. I could feel my face swarm with heat from my cheeks to my ears. I looked at the reflective refrigerator door and saw that my face and ears had been turned into a scorching red. I could feel my heart beat out of my chest and this feeling quickly overwhelmed my whole body and I couldn't stop smiling. He glanced at me and started to chuckle. I giggle to myself while standing next to him. After setting up for the party, we had just sat down on the couch to rest and started to talk to break the tension. We had talked about what is our ideal vacation and what kind of pet is best suitable to our personalities. In the middle of laughing , our friends came and we ate snacks and played games. While playing a game, I heard a knock at the door and I got up and so did Haru. I told him, "I'll get the door." I opened the door and it was that girl. He invited that girl from the camping trip...the girl who made his eyes light up when he saw her...the girl who was able to hold his hand... the girl that wasn't me.
Haru was suddenly standing behind me and he walked towards her and pulled her in the house while joining the others. I closed the door, sat down with the others, and just fiddled with my nails. They laughed and Haru's full attention was on her. I got up and went to get a drink because of how uncomfortable I felt. The rest of the time, I had just remained quiet during the party and just walked around here and there. Later on, I went to get some air outside, I just sat on the porch steps and looked at how my breath, with every exhale, came with a warm turning cold haze. I looked up at the stars and sat there in the quietness. I heard the door open and I slightly turn my head and it was Haru. I looked at him for a second then turned my head back forward. He asked, "What's wrong? How come you're outside by yourself?" I told him, "I just needed some air and wanted to look at the sky." He said, "oh ok" and walked closer to me and put a coat on my shoulders. I refused his gesture and he snickered and insisted the coat on me. He sat next to me and talked about what kind of stars are the closest to where we are. I listened to everything he said, yet didn't say a thing back.
He asked me, "If there was anything you could be reincarnated into, what would it be?" and I said, "I would want to be a star to watch over the night sky and be one of the brightest things in the sky." He looked at me in awe and said, "I've never heard anyone say that before." I slightly grinned while turning away from his face. After a while, everyone went home and Haru and I cleaned up the place. We took the decorations down and swept the floor. When we finished cleaning, it was already midnight so I just told Haru, "You should just sleep over because it's late and it's dangerous to leave this late." He was hesitant but he did consider how late it was and called his parents to make sure that they knew he was safe and that he'll be home tomorrow. I got some of dad's spare clothes and gave him a clean toothbrush. He said, "I'll sleep in the living room on the couch" I said, "Ok" and went to grab a pillow and a blanket for him. Before we went to sleep, we watched a movie together and the next thing I know, it is morning and Haru was in the kitchen cooking some breakfast for us to eat before he would go back home.
EPILOGUE:
*HARU'S PERSPECTIVE: That night while watching the movie, Hana dozes off and lays her head on Haru's shoulder and Haru is flustered and lets her sleep on his shoulder for a bit. After the movie ends, Haru slowly leans Hana on the pillow and covers her on the blanket and walks off to find another pillow and blanket...with no luck, he goes to Hana's room and gets the pillow and blanket from there and as he does he gets distracted. He looks at all the pictures of Hana as a kid and all types of things from her childhood laid on the walls. He quickly grabs the pillow and blanket and heads back to the living room and sees Hana sleeping still. He fixes the blanket to cover Hana properly so that she isn't cold. She snores lightly as Haru puts the pillow on the ground by the couch and sleeps at a lower level, next to Hana. When Haru wakes up, he sees Hana sleeping then gets ready and folds his blanket up. He walks over to the fridge to see what ingredients are there to cook for breakfast. He sees some eggs and some bread in the pantry. He scrambles some eggs and toasts some bread. *Hana wakes up*
