3rd POV.
Approaching the students, the professor surveyed the room, looking at the 3rd graders drawing their families. The activity was met with groans and shouts, "we're not five!" "Do I draw my dad's new girlfriend too? Haha" But the professor was one of those people who thought anyone under 16 as a kindergartner, so none of the comments reached her ears.
Looking closer at each students drawings, not many were that diverse, usually containing a mom, dad, and pet or sibling of sorts. One in particular stood out, a blond girl with a messy ponytail and glasses, drawing a variation of herself surrounded by others. "What's this?" The professor swiped the sketch pad, face contorting into a scowl. "The assignment was to draw you and your family members. Not characters from your twisted imagination!" She spat, pointing at a dragon girl, that was rather demonic looking. "I can draw a couple of gravestones if you want." The girl said, taking the drawing back delicately. The teacher reeled back, appalled, "What?" She shuddered. "Well, i'm in state care, and don't consider any of them family." The girl said, grimacing. "But I won't hold it against you if you don't care. No, your to high up on this twisted hierarchy to do something as lowly as care." She whispered, barely heard over the professors gasp as she pressed her manicured fingers to her chest.
And no-one could see the girls eyes glow sharply, for just a fraction of a second even she didn't. Yet.
No, that was for another time and place, several years later.
