This morning was it. I was leaving to a foreign country to start a new chapter in my life. I had butterflies roaming around in my stomach like crazy. My brother took me to the airport while it was still dark outside.
We stopped by the curb and my brother helped me out with my luggage. We stood there hugging each other and crying. I've only seen my brother for a few months and I'm leaving him. We said our goodbyes for the very last time and I headed off into the airport.
I promised my brother I would keep contact with him everyday. He has always been on my mind since he left dad's house.
I walked in the line for the plane to France. After minutes feeling like forever I felt a small hand grab onto the bottom of my leg. It was a baby. I saw her mother run to her and she picked her up and said sorry. I forgave and watched the baby cling onto the back of her mother's shoulder and watched me as they walked away. I kept watching until I lost sight of them in the crowd.
I smiled thinking about the baby girl holding onto the back of my leg and turned back around in the line.
For maybe forty five minutes I waited until I reached the desk to give the lady my ticket. When I reached the desk the lady looked at my ticket and smiled. She gave me back my ticket my assigned seat and I walked down the white hall leading to the plane. Butterflies were in stomach as I got closer and closer. When I reached the entrance of the plane a few attendance stood in a line welcoming me. I stood looking at everyone adjusting and sitting down. I looked down at my ticket wanting to go back, but no. I couldn't, I wanted to leave and never come back. I checked my ticket once more for my seat. I looked towards the section and I was sitting by a window. Yes! I made my way down to small walkway and sat my suitcase above me and sat down. I looked out the window to see what it looks like.
It took five more minutes for everyone to sit down. We took of with much force and pressure. Until the plane stopped jiggling, I relaxed a bit. I stared outside the window watching the land under me gradually get smaller. It continuously get smaller by the minute. Sooner or later I was above the clouds. It was beautiful, the colors of the Sun reflect off the clouds make them l pretty.
Until it got dark I got my headrest out and slept.
I woke to the captain of the plane from the intercom. We were about to land. I strapped myself in the seatbelt and waited for the plane to land.
As I listened to the captain say the word France and I sighed in relief. Hearing that wird sounded like my dream was finally coming true.
