Chapter 2: New world on edge

Koko and co were back at their HQ but Valmet couldn't seem to sit still for anything. Normally she wasn't like this when it was something to do with gun fights, but this was different for a change.

"Val..I know we witnessed something new, but you need to think about this." R said. "You'll only get yourself killed if you go with this plan of yours."

Valmet didn't say anything as she loaded her gun with ammo, she grabbed some knives as she walked out of the room. Eventually Koko had gotten in her way before she could leave the building.

"Valmet, you're strong...but this is ridiculous,  R's right. You'll just get yourself killed." Koko said. "I can't allow you to go, it's my fault my brother died."

"No Koko." Valmet said. "We need to strike those two down before they can come after us. That's why I'm doing this, I won't die..I promise you that."

Koko was about to say something, but knew Valmet was also right. She knew Scarlet and Kurumi would target them first, seeing as they haven't been killed earlier. Koko moved out of the way as she placed her hand on Valmet's shoulder. "Very well, I'll see if there are any files on these two...they don't seem like your locals you would see here or in Japan."

Valmet walked out as she started to search for Nightmare and Scarlet, hoping to make the first strike on them first. But Nightmare had watched everything from the shadows, she had a small hunch they would be close by. But not too close to the hotel her and Scarlet were staying at.

"Tojo, I want you to look into files on the two we saw today...we don't know what they call themselves. But our description on their appearance should be enough for us to find files on them.." Koko said as she walked into the room.

Nightmare stepped out of the shadows, as she remembered something Scarlet had told her while they were in the hotel room.  'Target the others, but leave Valmet to me...I have a gut feeling she's going to hunt us down. I want you to kill the others, but leave Koko alive. If Jonah gives you a hard time, tie him up and leave him hanging.'

Scarlet stood in the hotel room, looking out the window as she held a wine glass in her hand and smirked a little. "I know you're outside in the hall...you can't hide your smell Valmet."

Valmet's eye widen, how did she know she was there already? She bit her lip as she growled, kicking the door down. She ran into the room, and noticed Scarlet was standing by the window, with her back turned to her. "How did you know I was here? And how do you know my name already?"

Scarlet dropped the wine glass as the red wine had spilled on the white rug. She turned her head to the side as a small glow could be seen in her eyes. "It's simple, I asked the check in desk about you all...You're Valmet. A former UNFID, and a former FFRDF. You had lost your right eye from Chan Guoming..and now you're currently part of HCLI."

"That's classified information!" Valmet growled as she swung her gun forward and aimed it at Scarlet. "I'll kill you and your 'friend' before you can even deploy an attack on Koko and the rest of us." She was about to pull the trigger, but when she blinked. Scarlet was gone, she glanced around the room. "What, are you running?"

Scarlet jumped from above the fridge and tackled Valmet down onto the ground, knocking the gun from her hands. "I never flee from a fight." She grabbed the back of Valmet's head and slammed her head down onto the floor. "What are you going to do about it? It's not like Koko and the others will show up to aid you.."

Valmet grabbed her knife and reached behind her and slit Scarlet's ankle, making her lose balance. Falling off of Valmet, the woman stood up and pinned Scarlet down this time, holding the knife up to her throat. "What do you mean?"
