Marina was born and raised in Brighton until her mother's death. Her mother died of cancer, she fought with that illness many years. It devastated Marina and she fell into a depressive phase. It was then that her father decided to move back to Japan with all of them. At that time Marina was a petite 10 years old. It was hard for her to get used to her new life, since Japan is completely different and has a different culture, but as the time was passing, Marina eventually started to get used to everything. Especially Volleyball helped her in that time - to find friends and to socialize. The girl was playing Volleyball since she was only four years old. She somehow got inspired by her 6 year older brother.
