Can I Call You Tonight: Dayglow (song starts at 1:07)

Lazily Jungkook laid back against his bed. His eyes danced across his popcorn ceiling as his mind raced with worries. It was oddly quiet in the house presuming Jih had just gotten in trouble at school. Either way, Jungkook found himself immersed in thought. Was it his doings that influenced Jih? Not having many great role models himself, he couldn't help but feel guilty.

With a groan he turned on his side, eyes centering on the miniature bottle of rubbing alcohol lying on his dresser. Sweeping his hair back he reached over for it, bones cracking in relief since he'd been in a laying position for an hour. Min. No wonder Jih liked him so damn much, he looked like a walking pre-K teacher. Soft porcelain skin, bright clothes, bright eyes, bright smile, bright demeanor. It wasn't like Jungkook cared or anything.

Around seven-thirty Jungkook heard a soft knock on his door before it pushed open, revealing Jih's sleepy figure. "Mom never came home, what are we eating for dinner?" He asked shoulders slumped with sadness. Jungkook looked at his phone. Holy shit, it was getting late.

"Fucking hell, she didn't think to call, not even a fucking text?" Jungkook questioned perching up in his bed with a grunt. "What do we have in there to eat?"

"All we have is frozen peas...I hate peas!" Jih exaggerated, hands flying up as if he were surrendering to the all mighty pea gods. Jungkook, being the awesome big brother he was, collected his shoes and a crumbled up ten-dollar bill and booked it to the nearest gas station. "Can I have M&M's...and a slushie oh, and Sourpatch?" Jungkook shrugged, and Jih was off like lightning.

Being the most mature of the two, Jungkook strolled over to the hot bar, ordering two slices of pizza before heading over to the cold drinks. On his way there Jungkook realized something very important.

Mistakes are made, he understands that but, sometimes he thinks they happen to him too often. Harshly he collides with a random person, both slices of fresh, hot pizza falling to the ground with a pathetic 'smack' sound.

"Shit dude, watch where your fucking-" The mysterious boy, not being so mysterious at all covered his mouth with a staggered but sympathetic gasp. Jungkook bit his venomous tongue, eyes staring into Min's with wonder.

The small boy didn't seem to hear the words that left his lips as he scrambled to his knees and began trying to salvage the fallen pizza. With a sigh, Jungkook observed his odd behavior. Why was he in such a hurry and why was he trying to save obviously hopeless pizza?

"Okay, up you go," Jungkook mumbled pulling a frightened Min up to his feet by his dainty arm. Min looked pale, his deep chocolate eyes searched for any sign of resentment in Jungkook's dark ones. "Despite wanting to eat the fuck out of that, it's okay no need to get so worked up."

Min frowned.

"I said-" Jungkook noticed the smaller's hand go up to mess with the pink devices behind his ears before smiling in content. With a lingering stare, Jungkook spoke again. "So what, are you like...deaf?" Min's brows frowned in. "I mean not in a rude way...can you hear me?"

"Yes, I can," Min spoke softly as if he were testing his own voice. "I hear you." Jungkook's heart seemed to skip when Min shyly spoke, his reddened cheeks darkening with each word. He noticed a small pack of candy and juice in Min's hand as the shorter spoke. "Sorry...a-about that...I r-really didn't see you...or h-hear you."

Jungkook felt like a sick man. A man whose anger gets the best of them. "Oh, it's okay...I'm just waiting for my brother...um I'm Jih's brother...Jungkook...Jeon Jungkook."

"I-I know who you are Jungkook."

Oh.

Before Jungkook could question any further Jih came bolting down the aisle with a jumbo pack of Twinkies and a sprite. "Change of plans Jungkook, I-" He stopped when his eyes landed on the fallen pizza on the ground. "Holy shit."

Jungkook cleared his throat in an attempt to get Jih to realize who was standing less than five feet from him. His little brother looked up at him in confusion before his eyes landed on Min, who stood shyly beside Jungkook.

"Min, you shop here too?' Jih exclaimed as if the gas station were some VIP exclusive emporium. Min already flustered laughed and nodded. "Wow, that's awesome, isn't it Jungkook?" The taller didn't agree he simply hummed, eyes preoccupied with Min's profile.

"I-I couldn't sleep so I came here," Min explained sheepishly, his voice barely above a whisper. Jih nodded and pointed to himself.

"Neither could I because we had no food at home-"

"Um...that's enough talking for one night, don't you agree Jih?" Jungkook spoke through gritted teeth. Rather harshly he gripped Jih's wrist and pulled him away from Min and towards the cashier. "It's getting late, see ya'."

"Yeah, bye Min see you tomorrow," Jih yelled enthusiastically, waving cheerfully to the short boy. Once they'd bought everything and were situated in the car, Jungkook sighed, eyes dark and annoyed.

"Jih, you can't just say shit like that in front of strangers." The parking lot of the gas station was pretty much vacant except for a sketchy white van parked in the back and a red Nissan parked along the side of the building.

"What, I just told him the truth a-and Min is not a stranger!" Jihyung argued back, angrily munching on a Twinkie. Jungkook groaned and rested his head against the steering wheel. The lack of sleep he'd gotten was really catching up to him and doing its number.

"Look, just keep your mouth shut about home when you're around others." Jih didn't respond, he simply shifted away from the taller and rested his head against the window. Lazily Jungkook started the car, the headlights flashing brightly against the coble road.

Upon their arrival, Jih had fallen asleep and managed to get Twinkie cream all over himself and the windows. Carefully Jungkook picked Jih up and swung him over his shoulder, he was out like a light.

Placing the shorter down on his bed Jungkook sighed, gaze lingering on his brother's sleepy figure before storming out and towards his mother's room. The sound of mediocre music buzzed around the walls along with the unfamiliar voice of a male. Jungkook rolled his eyes and marched off to his room, slamming the door shut to let his mom know they were home, despite her preoccupancy.
