You woke up in your bedroom at your usual time of 9:00. Today was a Saturday and you’d promised to spend the day with your family. Smiling you saw the sun was brightly shining through your window. It felt like it was going to be a good day today. Jumping out of bed, you quickly ran to have a shower knowing your twin brother Jack would steal all the hot water to piss you off and lucky you Jack was still sound asleep in his room. You lost track of time and realised you’d been in the shower for nearly 30 minutes and you’d promised your mom you’d be ready for 10.

Turning off the shower, you wrapped a towel around yourself and ran into your room to dry your hair. When your hair was dry and going into its natural curls you changed into your favourite outfit which was a red checked shirt, a white pollen cardigan, black mini skirt and a brown pair of plumdale boots. As you were more of a natural type you put on light brown eye shadow along with mascara and light pink lipstick. Satisfied you noticed you had about 10 minutes left until the clock was at 10. Realising that Jack was still asleep you decided you go wake him up.

Jack’s room was a mess as usual and smelled like teenage boys which in this case didn’t smell very nice. You made a face at the boxers that lay on the floor. Stepping over the mess you walked over to your sleeping twin. Smirking you leaned down to his face and poked his cheek hard. Jack moaned and threw the covers over his head. You sighed. He’d asked for this. Putting your face next to his ear you took a deep breath.

“HEY JACK!!” You held your mouth to cover your laughter as Jack screamed, shot up from his bed and held his hands in a karate fighting position. You giggled and smirked at your other half. “Since when have you known karate?” Jack sighed deeply and fell back onto the bed trying to calm his heart beat.

“Jesus Vicky. Why do you have to wake me up like that geez.” Still smiling you shrugged and ruffled Jack’s brown hair. “You’re my little bro its my job.”

Rolling Jack’s eyes he fixed his hair and retorted. “By what? 15 minutes. Well I’m up so what do you want?” You decided to make your way out of his room and started to head down the staircase.

“Just thought I’d let you know you have 10 minutes until me and mom are leaving. Its our family day remember.” You yelled as you descended the stairs. Hearing your brother curse and run to the bathroom made you start to giggle again. Man he really is hopeless.

As you’d expected your mom was sitting all ready to leave but she’d still left out a pancake each for you and Jack. You gave your mom a kiss as a greeting which made her smile. While you ate your pancake your mom started to speak.

“What’s up with you today? Your more happier than usual.” Munching away at breakfast you shrugged but your mom suddenly smiled. “Is it a boy?” That made you laugh. Your mom had always wanted to know about boys ever since you hit purity. She seemed to show even more of an interest ever since your only serious relationship ended last year. Maybe she secretly thought you were still upset about it even though you weren’t in the slightest. Still smiling you responded.

“No way mom, I’m just feeling happy today you know.” With a gentle smile your mom got up from her chair and kissed your hair. “Well I’m happy to hear that sweetie.” Your mom and daughter moment was interrupted by Jack suddenly running into the kitchen. His hair hadn’t been combed and his shirt was tucked halfway into his jeans. You quickly hid your smile as he sat down and finally let himself breathe. In the corner of your eye you saw your mom sigh and then she went over to him to fix his hair. Yeah Jack is hopeless and you both knew it.

When you were done eating you left the kitchen to say good morning to your Persian cat Yuki. Since the living room and kitchen were a wall apart you could hear Jack complaining about how you’d woken him up this morning. And your mom telling him that he should set an alarm then with the humour in her voice easy to hear. You rolled your eyes as you heard Jack’s muffled grumbles. As much as you loved him he was such a dummy.
