I stood at the edge of the cliff, my wings fully extended the wind moving the black feathers ever so slightly. I heard a twig snap but did not move. I continued to feel the Sun on my, to pale for my liking, skin, the wind in my long black hair, and across the slick black feathered wings.
"You don't plan to jump do you?" The voice I was hoping for said.
"And if I did..." I replied not moving from my spot.
"I'd have to fly down and catch you. I know what you're trying to do and you know I'm going to stop you."
"Bradley can't you leave me be? So what if I jump? Who would care." I questioned.
I heard his hesitant sigh and his foot steps communing closer. "I cannot leave you be because you are the princess, the warrior princess of the Angels, and it's my job to protect you. If you jump everyone knows you would let yourself fall to your death. If you die we are without a heir and protector. There are plenty of people who would care if you jumped." He said inching closer with each word.
"Like who?" I asked referring to his final statement.
He said nothing so I turned to him. Tears stained his strong handsome face. My wings dropped and walked the few feet toward him.
"I would." He said giving me his answer. "I would care." He looked me in the eyes that time.
I wiped his tears away and slowly reached for his lips with mine. The moment our lips touched I felt like magic filled the space. The kiss was soft and continued for what felt like hours.
We pulled away for air and his blue eyes looked more blue than ever, and his soft pink lips more pink. His hair shined in the setting sun and his folded wings looked almost purple. I couldn't take my eyes away.
He brought his lips to mine once more this time with more feeling. It felt like the whole world was in his lips telling me everything he feels.
This kiss lasted much longer. It was not until the cold night air hit my bare legs and feet that the kiss broke.
More steps were heard and Dorian appeared. "Princess your father awaits you." Dorian said ignoring the fact that Brad was there.
