A week later
The rain poured outside, thunder and lightning crashing.
I laid in my bed, watching another random 2000's rom-com for the 16th time this week;That has been the only thing holding me together.
Just as will smith was going to apologize for being the biggest asshole to his girlfriend my phone rings.
"Hello?"
"Hey y/n can I come over? My power went out because of the storm"
"Oh of course warren but why wouldn't you just stay with Austin and Daniel?"
"I'll tell u when I get there"
"Uh..ok ill text u the address"

A while later I hear a knock at my door. I open it to find a soaked warren. I let him in, the squeaking of his wet shoes against the tile annoys me. He hangs his jacket on the coat rack and leaves his bag by the door.
"So... Are u ok?"
" yea I'm fine just really cold"
"Oh I can turn up the temp if you want"
He nods and I turn it up to a nice 70°
"So what happened with your power?"
"The place I stay in isn't the best so at the start of the storm the power went out. So I called the front desk and no one answered. And I knew you lived close by so I called you"

Warren continues to complain about his shitty apartment and how badly he wants to move out of the city. He says that he used to live a suburban life, so when he turned 18 he moved.
"It was the worst idea I've ever had"
"Really? I kinda like it out here"
"Not with how expensive everything is and my job doesn't do much" he takes another sip of the red wine, finishing the drink.
"But Daniel makes a lot from what I've heard so shouldn't you?"
"Daniel and Austin work above me. Their jobs are more important than mine"
He looks at the ground then back up to me.
" if you don't mind me asking warren why did you not go to Austin and Daniels?"
He chuckles pouring more wine.
"Daniel left"
My heart sinks into my asshole.
" what do you mean he left?"
" he packed his things and moved out"
"When?"
"Like Sunday apparently after you left they got into a huge argument and Austin called him a 'needy jealous whore who needs help' and I guess that was the last straw. He packed his things and moved in with his sister"
God..
"He called me sobbing, he was a mess I haven't heard from him since Tuesday I wonder how's he's doing"
"Jesus their toxic"
"Oh you don't even know the half of it"
"What do you mean?"
He chucked, putting his face in his hands
"Do you even wanna know?" he started
I nod, he sighs

"Austin and Daniel have always been an on and off couple. Austin didn't commit to Daniel at first well not until after their first official date"

"Like after the whole office situation?"

"Oh no Austin and daniel liked each other wayyyy before that. Daniel wanted Austin just as much as Austin wanted him. They would flirt for hours. Since Daniel was new Austin took every possible moment to teach him something just to be near him, and Daniel would act clueless about stuff he knew the in's and out's of just to spend more time with Austin"

I sat confused why would they lie over something as small as how and when they met? I mean maybe there's more to it than warren knows?
"But what about-"
Warrens phone began to vibrate and flash.We both stared at the phone "Daniel 🌞" plastered across the screen.
"You should get that" I say getting up and heading into my room. I grab Warren a pillow and warm blanket so at least his night on the couch will be somewhat comfortable.
"Hey Y/n I gotta go"
"Oh what happened?"
"Daniel he's he's" he bit his lip,looking at the ground "He's not ok I need to be there with him for now"
My heart was pounding out of my chest. I hate hearing about Daniel like this even after everything he said.
"Are you gonna come back?"
"Most likely I'll check If my powers on if not I'll be back here"
"Oh ok well be safe...the both of you"
He nodded and walked out the door.
