CHAPTER 3

How do you love someone and just... Walk away? Just like that. You just, go on as normal.... You get up, get dressed, go to work... How can you do that? How can you be okay with that?

The same party day

Karthik was excited to attend the party as after long time his cousin had spoken to him , lest he invited him for this huge party .

He got ready in his white three piece suit with a golden watch that suited well and felt an invisible pull to that party .

After slacking around in the party , Hari called him and said " Time to meet the real Queen of this party " . He was truly excited to meet her as Hari has not stopped talking about her since they spoke .

And a perfect blow took place when he saw her , "Jenni" the only one who loved him truly , 'Yea the one you stomped your feet on and made her run out of your life' his heart added .

He immediately saw that sadness , the hurt , the rage in her eyes and he didn't expect less . " She is looking like Godess now " his heart said , when his mind overtook " Yea , but do you remember what you said about her back then " .

His words echoed in his mind , making him cringe at his words back then . This conversation between his mind and heart distracted when Hari asked her to drop him .

He wanted the earth to split open and swallow him , he was too nervous , he never met her after that day . She seemed uncomfortable too ! He wanted to say no , but she nodded and went away .

"Iva thaan nan pesitae iruntha Jenni , sema ponnu da , pesi paaru unakae teriyum " he said and winked . The hell he doesn't know anything , that he was the sole reason , she was crushed for many years .

He just nodded and swarmed that place . The drive was total unpleasant one and he blurted out his feelings , he really wanted her to look at him like he was everything .

He groaned and hit his head once when he reached his place . " After all the hell you did , do you really think she will love you back huh !" His mind asked .

"Maybe she won't , but I can try right ! After all I'm her first love , now she is one of the top most important people , if I get her back my career will hail high " he thought to himself .

He still didn't stop seeing her a source for his fame and his fortune . During the college days , she was one of student chair persons and she excelled in her studies .

She was cultural secretary and the best script writer they had . She wanted to become a good business women so she always was the perfect girl .

He stood by her just for fame and name , the boy who dates the popular girl who doesn't even know that he was cheating .

He enjoyed everything , but everyone knew he was such a douche many tried to warn her , but she believed him blindly . That's what made her so weak .

He played the love game and dated another one behind her back , when she came to know about that , he acted like he was the innocent man on earth . She believed him again . Strike one , she had her own doubts then .

He then gradually , played the dominant role and she perfectly obeyed him and he started doing all the dirty thing in front of her . Strike two , she held her back cause she loved him truly and believed he would come back .

He showed all his true face , it sometimes involved physical abuse and always has the mental torture he would give her . She truly wished to run away from him but the love she had still had hope .

And after all the torment she spat back and he was truly taken aback . After she spat everything , she ran away , he couldn't even move his muscle seeing her seeth at him , but he wanted her to get lost and he got that .

He truly enjoyed the break up , how would that be breakup cause he never loved her at the first point . He used her for all he knows .

He slumped at the couch recalling every deed he did , but still had those cunning thoughts to get her back somehow .

He called Hari and asked her number . "Ena da drive thaan poninga athukulla number ah nee nadathu da " Hari said . "Just give me her number da pls" Karthik said and got her number .

Before he start his plan he needed to do some research about her , the past five years she changed a lot and he needed to know those .

On the opposite side ,

Jenni didn't even sleep a single minute as she feared all that haunted memories may torment her now .

She worked hard throughout the night formulating the new plans for her new company opening . She planned to hop into the new field now , she exactly had all the details now in her hand.

The sun rose up , and the clock shined showing it as "6:00" AM . She then rubbed her eyes which seem to be tired and got out of her study to find the maids already in the house .

She went to the kitchen to find Lakshmi ma preparing coffee . "Good morning Lakshmi ma" she said yawning . Lakshmi ma shook her head "Inaikum thoongalaya en Jenni ma , Sona kekava poringa intha coffee" she said and handed her coffee .

Jenni chuckled and told her that she will freshen up and then come down to have coffee and sprinted towards her room as she knows Lakshmi ma will start her own set of laments and hell she didn't want to listen to them early morning .

She felt so grateful for the workers in her house that she missed her parents less . As they all kept her feel at home always and Lakshmi ma was the top in that list .

They knew nothing other thaan , that their only child is now the talk of the town . They are so proud about her and always boast about her to everybody .

But they knew nothing about her heart break and the break through she had . They had the wealth to make her study in a good college and also was able to afford a good house for her to stay during the study !

She felt so grateful for that as she needed all the space when she was broken and that apartment damn gave her all her needs .

That apartment knew her cries and late night works , her damaged sleep cycle , her poor appetite , her deranged form and what not .

She moulded herself as time went by , she understood that he never loved her and that was so heart breaking than the fact that he ended things .

She shut herself from everyone talked to her parents once a week , but she was so resolute to be successful , she wanted that so bad . She wanted him to see how successful she becomes , she wanted to show that she was not weak .

She found few people in that phase and they are the loyal ones she has ever found . She felt grateful for them and always respected them .

After all her thoughts and the freshening up session , she actually got ready to office itself . She came down humming a song which she saw in status of someone .

Lakshmi ma smiled seeing her looking good now and served her the breakfast and gave her the coffee which she loved damn so much .

"Thank you so much Lakshmi ma intha coffee illana enoda naal eh odathu , seri nan kelamburen maybe night Vara late agidum so food epayum Pola pack panitu poidunga late aachuna" she said before leaving .

She was right about one thing she is going to late but little did she knew what's she gonna face .
