One Week Before

Troye's POV

"So what do you want to do for Halloween?" Troye moved the phone from his left ear to his right.

"Well I have to work, but we could hang out there." Tyler said through the speaker.

"Since when do you have a job? I thought you were all, "I have to focus on my education"".

Tyler sighed, "They take away the scholarship after four years."

"But I thought you had money saved up from highschool and summer and stuff." Troye picked up an apple.

"I do but that only lasts so long." Tyler stated. "Plus," he added, "I can never be too prepared for the future."

"And on that note, I'm gonna go."

"Oh come on Troye, you have to start planning at some point." Tyler said with a small sigh.

"Bye Ty." Troye hung up the phone and took a bite of his apple. Everyone had been telling him that he needed to start planning his future. Nobody seemed to think that he had any chance with his singing career, but he was confident. Of course, he had a backup plan. Worse case senerio he would work at his mother's restaurant until he found a steady job.

Troye walked into the living room and saw Phil laying on Dan's lap, asleep. Dan answered Troye's questioning look with a shrug and went back to looking at his phone. Troye didn't think he would ever understand their relationship. They swore that they weren't together, just best friends. He decided it wasn't his place to jump to conclusions so he eventually gave up the topic all together. Troye's phone buzzed.

Connor's POV

"Hey Con, I hope it's okay that Troye's coming." Tyler said as he helped close up the shop.

"Of course it is. Your friends are my friends!" Connor smiled.

"It's just that it takes him a while to adjust to new people."

Connor looked at Tyler. "Didn't he make-out with you after knowing you for like a minute?"

"It was New Years, okay," he sighed. "Just, don't expect much from him right away."

Connor nodded. After getting the shop closed and saying goodbye to Tyler, Connor started the short walk to his apartment.

Connor arrived home and walked into the kitchen to find all of his good coffee gone.

“Caspar! Joe!” he yelled to the direction of the living room. Caspar and Joe walked into the kitchen with matching looks of confusion.

“Who drank my coffee?” he asked while crossing his arms. They both looked at the ground.

“Guys! I bought it like two days ago!”

“We’re sorry, it’s just,” Joe started.

“We had a long night.” Caspar finished.

“You’re disgusting.” Connor turned around to make a pot of generic brand coffee that they kept for emergencies.

“You’re just jealous cause you’re single,” Caspar quipped.

Connor sighed and turned around, “Be careful before I kick you both out. And by the way, just because you play loud music doesn’t mean I can’t hear anything.”

The two boys blushed and nodded before exiting the kitchen.

“Wait,” he yelled after them. They both poked their heads in. “What are you doing tomorrow?”

Joe grinned, “Are you trying to invite us to something? Or are you just genuinely interested in what we’re doing?”

Connor rolled his eyes. “Tyler is bringing a friend to the shop who’s probably bringing his roommates so I figured I could invite you two.”

“Sounds fun to me, as long as I get to control the music.” Caspar stated and the two left the kitchen. Connor leaned against the counter to wait for the coffee to be ready. He wasn’t sure how tomorrow would go, but based on Tyler’s description of his friend, it would be boring. What a great way to spend Halloween.
