Second Person's POV
"Huh? You found a lead?!"
You gasped in surprise at the news Toji told you. He nodded his head enthusiastically. You were proud of the progress he made. You took a few sips of (favourite beverage) he made for you.
"So, how did you find the lead?"
"Well...it was unexpected. I was dragging out a drunk middle-aged man. He kept rambling about his bad life choices and stuffs, until he revealed something that piqued my interest."
"What's it? What did he tell you?"
Toji shut the door of the kitchen cabinet. He paused for a moment, as he recalled his meeting with the said middle-aged man.
"Well..."
The drunkard looked drowsy as Toji propped the man toward a taxi. The older man heaved out a long sigh. "I wish I'm no coward and tell the cops the real deal already... Can't bear with this sh*tty life anymore."
"Do you need to report something to the authorities?"Toji asked politely. This drunkard's story intrigued him.
"Ya' know that hit-and-run case?" He inquired, shifting his attention to the nightclub bouncer. Toji chuckled lightly. "There are many hit-and-run cases , sir."
"Come on! How could you forget that heart-wrenching case?? That poor mother didn't get justice.." the old man sounded guilty for some reasons. And this time, he managed to grasp Toji's interest for real.
"....oh, that. Yea...now I remember. What's up with the case?" He pretended to finally remember the said case. Though, it was still fresh in his mind. It felt like only yesterday he lost his beloved wife, Mayumi Fushiguro.
