*knock* knock* "Nadav?"
"Oh, come in."
"Hey." Jozef said to me with a smile. "So the other teachers just wanted to talk about the sleeping arrangements. Y'know for the field trip."
"Ohhh. Okay yeah I'll come down to the teacher lounge." I replied.
"Yeah, I'm going there too. We could walk together if you'd like?" He gestured to the hallway.
I quickly shifted my gaze to the computer, "Oh n-no. That's fine I have something to do. I'll walk myself there in a minute."
"Alright." He shrugged his shoulders. "Suit yourself."
He closed the door and I let out a huge breath. I'm so nervous to even talk to him, I can't walk next to him! I don't even know what the hell's going on with me right now?
Ugh, what am I a little kid? This is so stupid...
I get up out of my chair and walk down to the the hallway to see Jozef standing near the doors. "I knew you didn't have anything to do. Come on let's go now."
I felt my face get a little hot, I let out a fake chuckle and walk by his side downstairs. As we walk downstairs he tries to make conversation.
"So.. why'd you lie about having to do something." He teased.
"I-I didn't! I really had something to do." I lied.
"Sure." He laughed. God his laugh... It always drove me crazy, in a good way. I love hearing his laugh, it's so..
"Cute.." I quietly whispered to myself.
"You said something?" He asked
"Ah, N-no..."
GOD WHY IS MY MIND SO STUPID!! HOW DID THAT SLIP OUT OF MY MOUTH?!
Anyways.. We made it to the teachers lounge and I see the rest of teachers sitting at the table Nicole, Rhona, and Tai were sitting down.
"Aye you guys made it! Finally!" Nicole greeted us.
"Hi Nicole." I smiled at her, taking a seat next to Tai. Jozef took a seat next to Nicole and let out a sigh.
"I'm so fucking tired right now." He crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair.
"Oh calm down. It'll be over soon Jozef." Rhona rolled her eyes and took a sip of her Starbucks coffee.
Tai lifted his head out of his newspaper and said, "Oh are we starting now?"
"Yup. Alright so for the trip to Disney World we're gonna need a lot of rooms. Anybody got any ideas for the sleeping arrangements?" Nicole asked the table.
"I mean, separating the rooms by boys and girls would be the sensible thing to do." Rhona crossed her arms.
"That would be 6 rooms. We would have to get 6 rooms. 2 for each grade." Tai explained.
"Well what about the teachers?" Jozef asked. "It's gonna be awkward if a teacher is sleeping in the same room as a student."
"I don't think the kids need teacher supervision. They're old enough to be mature in a room. Plus, they're with the same gender." Nicole said.
"I mean... Unless they're gay." Jozef joked.
Everyone chuckled at his joke, except for me. Gay jokes just weren't funny to me. And I'd never expect Jozef to make that type of joke. Plus, I always get so awkward every time I hear the word gay.
"Haha, Alright that's enough joking." Nicole giggled.
Rhona got up and threw away her coffee cup, "Maybe we should separate the teachers by boys and girls too."
"Hey that's a good idea. Don't you think so Nadav?" Nicole asked me.
"Huh? Oh y-yeah It's nice." I responded. Wait.. Separated by boys and girls? That means I'm gonna have to a share a room with.. with HIM. J-Jozef... My face turned slightly red and I looked away.
"I think it's a good idea too." Jozef smirked for some reason while looking at me.
"Alright, It's settle. I will book our rooms tomorrow." Tai spoked up and left the room immediately.
"Well.. I guess he's in a rush." Nicole said before getting up out of her seat. "See you guys tomorrow." She walked out the door.
I tried to walk out the door until Jozef walked up behind me, "Hey Nadav!" He said with a smile. We walked out the door together and headed for the end of the hallway.
"Uhm, Can I help you?" I asked. I know I was being passive-aggressive but I get SO nervous around him that I don't want to say a word.
"Jeez. Just saying hello." He rolled his eyes. "Anyways, you weren't talking that much at the meeting. Are you usually a quiet person?"
"Uh Y-yeah I-I guess." Jesus, I stutter so much around him.
"Heh. Why are you stuttering so much? Are you nervous or something?" He nudged my arm.
"Hah! N-no. I'm not!" I looked away.
We entered the doors that led to the parking lot. "Uh, look I gotta go to my car so um. Bye Jozef!" I speed-walked to my car and unlocked the door.
When I got in I took a deep breath.
What the... What the fuck is wrong with me...
