Chapter Three
Bitter
Violet's P.O.V
I could hear them talking
Dan sounded a bit frantic, I hoped they weren't flirting
I mean it's not like we're together and I have any control over who he flirts with but I just-
"Caramel Macchiato!" Amber yelled "iced" Dan yelled over her shoulder
I made the drink quickly and called his name
"Back so soon? You haven't even finished your last cup" I say smiling
"You caught me, I needed an excuse to talk to you, little miss lovely, I never got your actual name." He smiled and I noticed he had the most amazing dimples, they suited him so well.
"But that costs another five dollars" I remembered out loud
"I'm sure you're worth it darling"
Was this some kind of joke? I don't think it's April yet, early February in fact, it was still snowing every once in a while god I hate Chicago-
"I don't mean to be rude but you do know my name, isn't it only fair I know yours" He interrupted my thoughts
"Oh yeah! My name is Violet, Violet Lilly Williams" I spilled out instinctively stuck my hand out and quickly took it back realizing how awkward that was
"Mm, Violet Lilly, I quite like that" He hummed "Daniel James Howell" He told me
"Amber Rose Greenly" I jumped a little at Amber's voice right behind me
Dan nodded his head and took the macchiato from my hands
"Do you like caramel macchiato Violet Lilly?" He asked
"Oh! Yeah! They're my favorite actually!" I tell him and he hands the transparent tall cup back to me
"Remember to call me darling" he told me, walking over to his old cup of coffee and gulping the rest before walking out of the coffee shop.
I stood there still trying to process what had just happened.
"I like him" Amber stated simply after a minute
"I-Uh-I'm-Me too" I sigh "What should I do" I suddenly though out loud.
"Wait until your shift is over and then text him or something" Amber told me patting me gently on the shoulder, so that's what I did.
