When you're broken
In a Million little pieces
And your tryin'
But you can't hold on any more
Every tear falls down for a reason
Don't you stop believin' in your self

Chapter 7:

Indy:

"I'm sorry." Indy expressed.

Ty held his husband as tight as he could. "You don't have to be sorry."

"But I am sorry, and I feel as though I should be sorry."

He kissed his head gently, "it's gonna be ok. I'm here. We can work this out."

Indy nodded and the door opened.

"Salutations, fathers." Violet greets.

"Hey," Lena forces out.

"Hello, girls, "Indy greets, "did you have a good time with your friends?"

"We did." Violet confirms.

"Are you two alright?" Lena asks looking at Indy specifically.

Indy nods, "yeah, everything is ok."

Ty hugs him tighter.

Lena smiles at them. But then it drops.

Lena:

Such a beautiful family. . .

How can Lena possibly fit?

'Who would ever want you?'

'You brat! Why did I have to be stuck with such a horrible child?'

She can't...

"Lena?" Indy asked.

Her eyes shot up at him.

"Are you ok?"

'No one can ever love you...'

"Yes. I'm fine."

She ran upstairs.

Bad thoughts can't hurt you.

Bad thoughts can't hurt you.

But. . . Can they hurt someone else?

She looks at violet who was unpacking her stuff.

If Lena is an unstable mess like Magica always said, this family would have to pay the price for it.

She can't let that happen.

Huey, Dewey, and Louie:

What did this mean?

The unexplained person inside him, the scratches on the wall...

H

Y?

Something about it rubbed Huey the wrong way, as if this were a memory of something serious, he just forgot about.

Huey did what he could. He grabbed his laptop and typed 'other person living inside.'

Possession? He hoped not. It seemed nothing like Louie... maybe if he-

"What is wrong with you?!"He heard his brother yell in the other room.

"You're the one bringing it up again!" Louie shouts.

"Louie?" Huey asked quietly as he walked in.

"I had no control over what I said!" Louie tried to explain to Dewey. "Why are you making such a big deal out of it?"

"That doesn't change the fact that you said it." Dewey explained. "Did you mean it or didn't you?"

"It's pretty hard to control what I say while I was being possessed by a freaking demon!" Louie says.

"Guys, what's going on?" Huey asks.

Louie groans. "Will this ever end?"

"Guys?" Huey asks again.

"Louie...during the demon- thingy- about our parents?" Dewey tried to get the words out. Luckily Huey knew what he meant.

"Dewey, please." Huey says. He turns to his youngest brother. "Louie, we know you didn't mean anything by it. You don't believe any of that...right?" Huey asks. "Just tell him you don't belive all that, and we can all go back to our business."

Louie sighed.

'Donald lied to us our whole lives...'

'Scrooge pretended we never existed, and Della abandoned us.'

'Della and Scrooge appeared out of nowhere. The second we were old enough to be profitable.'

'Scrooge barley knows your name, but I'll bet he could name your skills and how much money he's made off you.'

'For ten years, we struggled to get food. We moved from house to house, all because Scrooge wanted nothing to do with us, because Della left, because Donald lied. We need to face facts. We are just free labor to them.'

Can he honestly deny it?

"Louie?" Huey asks.

Louie sighs. "I can't."

"See?" Dewey asked, "he won't even try to make this right."

"Who cares what I think?" Louie asked.

"So, you did say it! And you meant it, why?!" Dewey shouts.

"How can I control what I said? I barley remember any of it!" Louie says.

"It isn't what you said Louie, it's the fact you're not denying it now," Huey explained. "Our parents are good people."

"I can't deny it honestly because it's the truth. But if you really want, I can lie. Do you want me to lie?" Louie asks.

"Brothers don't lie to each other!" Huey says.

"You're literally asking me to!" Louie shouts.

"Boys, enough!" Donald yelled as Della stood outside the door.

"Yeah, what's the big idea? You three never fight like this. Go back to hitting and name calling or don't fight at all!" Della jokes.

Donald raised an eyebrow at his sister, but then seems to decide it's not the right time to question her parenting skills.

"Sorry," Dewey says softly.

"Dewey, what's going on?" Della asked.

Louie rolled his eyes, of course she'd ask Dewey first.

"Nothing." He says.

"No more secrets, Dewey. Remember?" Della reminds him.

"Oh my gosh! I am so sick of hearing that! I hate your stupid rules and I wish things could just go back to the way they were!" Dewey yelled, he ran upstairs and slammed the door to his room without letting Della or Donald say anything else.

Della awkwardly turns to Louie.

"Since when am I a loyal source of information?" He asks, then walked outside.

"Huey?" Della asks.

Huey sighed, "I'm sorry."

"It's ok, just tell us what's going on?" She asks.

Huey shook his head. "I can't...and I don't know where to storm off to, so maybe it would be easier if you two just leave instead?" He suggests.

"Huey?" Donald asked, "are you ok?"

"I think so," He says, "just... I need to be alone right now."

Donald nodded and nudges Della, so she'll follow him out of there.
