Jac's POV:
I straightened my jacket before entering Albies for the New Years party that most of the Holby staff would be attending. I was meant to be meeting Sacha here but of course as usual he was late so I headed over to the bar ordered a red wine and then took a seat alone in the corner of the room. Around me the atmosphere was happy the music was playing fairly loudly most people were laughing and they were all in their individual groups. At that moment I realised how alone I actually am, everyone had their own groups and were happy and there was just me sitting alone waiting for the only friend I've ever had and will have.
As i look up a little smile forms across my face at the sight of kian Madani one of the only men that has ever seen my vulnerable side, but that smile soon dropped when I see him approach a young woman In her twenties with blonde hair. The complete opposite of me and kiss her on the cheek before taking a seat and placing her delicately on his lap.
The bell on the door made a small noise that I could barely hear because of the intense pounding of my heart but when I looked up I saw Sacha walking through the door and beginning to approach me so I plastered a smile on "hey Sacha how was work today". The friendly face of Sacha smiled delicately and took a seat next to me "work was ok but far too busy it seems that people were already on the booze before it hit ten o'clock this morning". A small giggle escaped my mouth "I mean it is new year so there is a acception would you like a drink?". Nodding eagerly Sacha said "yes please a beer would be great thanks".
I rose from my seat and headed to the bar to order Sacha his first beer and me my second glass of wine. I intended to take my mind of everything tonight but I needed to be careful because I had work tomorrow. While waiting patiently for the drinks I was startled by a gentle canadian voice saying hi. I would know that voice anywhere but I really didn't have the energy to talk to him right now and so my heart started beating rapidly again "hello madani". I turned my head away slightly and then grabbed the drinks heading back towards Sacha jealousy coursing through my veins.
I plastered on a smile again "hey I'm sorry I think I'm going to have to bail I'm not feeling to good I might just head home and get a early night I will see you later don't be home too late". Since Essie died Sacha had moved back in with me and I thinks it's one of the best decisions I have ever made that way i'm not Lonely without Emma and my non existent love life and Sacha isn't alone and won't go into a state of depression again.
Sacha smiled back "ok see you later then are you sure I can't tempt you into staying for one more drink". my head moves slowly from side to side "sorry I'm going to call it a night" I placed a soft kiss on his head and turned to the door heading out and home from a night I didn't expect to happen.
