The warm breeze of the early September morning swept over Platform 9 and 3/4, touching the skin of every student and parent hugging and carrying luggage onto the train, oblivious of the minutes left before the train would leave.

I stood alone, observing nervous year ones and agitated fellow year 6's. My parents were both terrified muggles, abandoning their 'freak child' at the first chance they could; having a witch in their family was a secret they attempted to keep well hidden, and it stayed that way for 16 years' until they gladly left me stranded at King's Cross with no money or shelter, just my suitcase with my Hogwarts equipment, uniform and a shit load of trauma. I had always looked after myself, and now they were gone, I trueley had to manage.

A bearded man with a funny red cap took my case from me, bowing his head as I smiled at him kindly. Once I entered the train the familiar smell of books, sweets and coal hit me like a brick. Hogwarts was my escape and only freedom, and I enjoyed every single bit of it.

Every bit except from Fred Weasley, the most blood boiling, skin crawling, hair pulling, arrogant prick I had ever laid eyes on.

Ever since Year 1, him and his less sufferable twin brother had played pranks on me. Some very disturbing pranks I might add. The worst part was, we shared the same house to.

I shook the thoughts from my head and pulled open the sliding door to an empty cabinet, pushing my much smaller day bag onto the overhead racks and sitting next to the window. A few minutes later, the train chugged to a start and all the children began running to the train's window, smiling and waving goodbye to their weeping parents.

As they died down, I reached up and took my completely overread muggle novel from my bag, gently stroking the cover.

The Secret Garden

Before she died, my grandmother gave me this book. She was the only person in my family who accepted me for who I was, and for that I was eternally grateful.

A bang on the door made my heart jump and I quickly turned to the door to see what the noise was.

My shocked face quickly dropped into a scowl, which was greeted with grinning brown eyes and a crooked smirk. Fred Weasley was stood outside my carriage, his hands gripping the board above the door as he examined my expression. I heard him chuckle through the glass as I rolled my eyes, sticking up my hand to give him the finger.

I hadn't seen him since year five so seeing him so tall and muscular made me catch my breath for a moment. His shoulders were much broader, hands and arms much larger, his face was still pale and painted with freckles, but his jaw was more defined and his chocolate eyes more tired. Though his body was different, his wicked grin always stayed the same.

"What do you want Weasley" i moaned, shooting daggers at him. He took one of his hands from the headboard and pushed open the door, lazily leaning himself against the frame.

"To annoy you, which is my soul purpose in life. Seems like i'm achieving it to" he continued.

"I don't have time for your bullshit this year Weasley, so if you don't mind shut the damn door and fuck off back to the carrot farm" i huffed, opening my book again and propping legs up on the bench.

He raised an eyebrow at me but I just sighed and pretended like I didn't notice his presence, smoothing out my skirt and pulling up my socks.

Less than thirty seconds of him stood their, i stood from my seat and slammed my book shut. After what happened with my parents, I was not ready to put up with his shit so i walked over to him, not caring how he towered over me, or how he was grinning even wider .

"Did you not hear me Weaslebee? I said LEAVE " i almost shouted, pushing him with as much force i could until i was able to shut the door again.

I left my book closed and rested my head on the seat, watching the misty fields of Scotland float by the window. I shut my eyes as a single tear ran down my cheek. No parents, No friends and no way of getting rid of Weasley.

Fantastic.
