Today is another normal day of having my parents home for maybe a week. I had just woke up to the smell of maple syrup, and bacon. The typical breakfast mom makes when she's home. It's Sunday, so today is a family lazy day.
We sit in the living room watching reruns of our favorite TV shows, watching movies, and catching up. I finally decided to get out of my warm bed and go to the kitchen.
"Hey, mom, breakfast smells amazing." I said as I walked over to her. "Thanks honey. Why don't you set the table?" She says pointing to the stack of plates forks, knives, and cups. "Sure." I said grabbing the stuff and walking over to the table and setting them properly.
On a free stove-eye I sat the kettle down and turned it on prepping it for my hot tea I have with breakfast every morning.
Mom finished everything and dad came in sitting down enjoy the delicious breakfast mom prepared.
Breakfast was ate in silence. But not an awkward silence. It was peaceful, we were just enjoying the food and each other's company.

After breakfast, and after cleaning everything up we meet up in the living room where mom is queuing up Netflix to watching Criminal Minds. Just like usual when they're home.
I crawl up on the small chair with a blanket. Mom started the episode and I'm just happy they're home even if it is for just a week.
Half way through through the episode my phone vibrates with a text... From Gilinsky.
TEXTS
G: Hey, I know your parents are home, but I was wondering when we can hang out again?Me: Hey, my parents will probably be leaving again by the weekend, so yeah. But right now I'm middle of an episode of Criminal Minds.
G: Okay, I'll text you later. 😉
Me: Okay, dork, bye.
G: Bye, 😘
Smiling I lock my phone and go back to my family time.
