~Author's note: I've always been too shy to write fanfics because my ninth grade English teacher said my writing sucked and I've never forgotten it. I'm 23 years old now and she can f off. Go easy on me and enjoy. I plan to add smut in the future so 18+ ONLY please!~
Our story begins on a gloomy, rainy day in October. You sit in the back of a wagon drawn by four majestic horses along with an elder gentleman holding the reins. The horses trot along the winding dirt road, now slick with mud. The sound lulls you to sleep until a loud whinney has you lurching forward in shock. One of the horse's hooves began to slip in the mud causing your wagon to go careening off the road with a loud thud. The two left wheels have both taken damage.
"I'm so sorry, Miss! It seems this is where our journey ends! We can venture to that castle to take shelter until the weather lightens up.", the driver you call Mr.Williams announced with furrowed brows.
"It's quite alright, Mr.Williams. It's not your fault. I'm guessing that castle will make due considering its size.", you remark.
You gather up your belongings and try to avoid the thick mud surrounding you. Your heels still sink in a bit, but you manage to make it onto the entrance to the astonishing manor. It has two towering doors made out of the most beautiful wood you've ever set your eyes on. It's embedded with a large knocker with the face of a lion staring blankly at you. You take a deep breath and knock.
Silence.
You look back at Mr.Williams with a concerned face until the doors swing open with haste. You are greeted by a quaint man in a bow tie and black and white fancy attire.
"The Master is expecting you. He sees you are in need of a place to stay, no?", the petite man says in a calm demeanor.
"Yes please, sir. Our wagon has taken a fall in this nasty storm.", you state.
"Luckily we have a spare room for your driver. As for you, the Master would like to speak to you privately in person."
You gulp. You don't know what to expect. 'The Master' sounds so ominous. Who knows what will greet you at the bottom of that grand staircase? You fiddle with the edge of your dress while the butler takes Mr.Williams to a room out of view. With a castle this big, you can't imagine where he's being led to. Lost in your thoughts, you're interrupted by thundering footsteps assuredly coming toward you. You look up and see what you assume to be the Master.
He's taller than you, he has soft looking white hair, and a bone structure that looks as if it's been carved by the Gods themselves. His eyes dart to yours and you can't help but notice an unnatural tint. You think, 'Does he... have red eyes? No. I must be seeing things, I am tired afterall. There's no way he-' you stop your inner rambling when you see him begin to greet you.
"It's nice to meet you Miss. My name is Danny, I'm the Master of this manor. May I ask your name?"
"Y/N, the pleasure is all mine. I hope we're not intruding too badly, in this storm you're our only option." you nervously mutter.
'He really does have red eyes' you think, but feel less intimidated when he flashes a friendly grin.
"It's no trouble at all! I only have one condition if you are to stay here. You must take up work as our maid. If you stay long term, I will pay handsomely. My only rule is to stay out of my library. ", Danny says.
"I-", You ponder his offer, but you know at least until the storm passes you can't refuse. 'What about after then? I was to move back in with my parents after the fire. Trading that for a life in this place with such a fine gentleman sounds like a good trade.' you think.
"Yes. I will accept your terms. Is there a proper uniform I am to wear?"
"I laid it out on the bed in your new room, along with anything else you might need. If there's something else you require, please feel free to ask.", He said politely.
You nod and give a shy smile at his kindness. The butler soon returns and leads to your room. Your living quarters are much larger than you anticipated. There's an elegant carved bed frame with a thick mattress and soft bedding to line it. The ceilings are vaulted which made the room seem even more impressive. Two large dressers could be found on the sides of the room, both with ornate etchings lining the sides. One has a mirror sitting above it. As promised, the uniform was placed upon the bed.
You inspected the dress with a judgmental gaze. It seemed a bit short for your taste, but who are you to complain? The white ruffled edges were awfully cute and there was delicate black lace along the neckline. The shoes that came with it seemed impractical. Too high. Too thin of a heel. You then wonder if you bit off more than you could chew.
Not wanting to make Danny wait, you threw it on and made your way to the foyer. At first you don't see him, so you grabbed a washcloth from the maid's cabinet as well as a cleaning spray. You decided you had better get a move on so you look good to the Master. You had just met him, but you felt a need to impress. It was possibly because he was such an exquisite specimen, you felt inadequate. Your thoughts trail off as you clean every surface in the dining room. You move throughout the manor, each room left spotless.
You then notice a burgundy door that stands out from the rest. Also unlike the rest, this door was closed. Could this be the library? You haven't been shown its location, but you have an inkling this is it. 'Danny is such a mysterious man, why is the library off limits? Would he even realize I was in there? I could just take a peek, right?' you reason.
The curiosity gets the better of you and you slowly creak open the broad door. "Thank God Danny's not in here," you murmur under your breath. You're careful to set your heels down as quietly as possible but are quickly lost in amazement at the library. It seems to have every book you could ever read. The colors that line the walls are exquisite. There's a crackling fireplace in the center along with two blue velvet chairs. In the corner you notice a mahogany desk littered with papers. 'That must be his workplace. It couldn't hurt to just straighten up the papers right?' you foolishly muse.
You tiptoe to the desk and gather the papers that fell to the floor. You open a drawer to place them in when you see it- a bottle filled with red liquid, Ink you'd assume. You pick it up to examine it closer. This definitely was too thick to be ink. It looks like... blood? Your eyes widen, but before you have time to react, the library door slams shut. It startles you and you drop the delicate bottle, glass obliterated and blood spilled everywhere.
You look up and the Master is watching you with a blind fury you can't describe, his red eyes glistening even more vibrantly with his anger.
"I had ONE rule. ONE, and you've already broken it. Not only that but you've broke my last supply! You know what that means? You're going to replace it!", He shouts.
"I'm so sorry, Sir. I just was so curious and I... wait I can't possibly afford to replace that! I'm still working off my debt.", you speak with a shake in your tone. He begins to laugh, which confuses you more than anything.
"I'm not talking money, Kitten. You're going to be my live feed.", He said chuckling
"Your WHAT?!"
"Your little mistake is going to cost you, what else did you expect? I will drink from you every night as recompense for your crime."
Still slightly confused, you stammer, "Dr-Drink?"
He answers your question without words. He flashes a brilliant smile, but this time you notice two fangs protruding from his mouth. Did you really just piss off a vampire in his own home?!
