" The scars you can't see,
           are the hardest to heal".
         ~  Unknown .

I woke up that sunny morning to the smell of flowers and beautiful sunlight shinning through my windows.
I started my morning routine with my prayers ,taking my bath and dressing. It was Joy's turn to do the chores. Opening my wardrobe, picked out my usual outfit of white shirt and black plants along with black heels. After applying a light make-up, pick up my bag and make my way downstairs.
I live in a two bedroom apartment in Lekki with my best friend Joy. As you can guess from my choice of dressing, I am a lawyer while Joy is an actress. We met at University and you can say we are the exact opposite. I am reserved, calculated, organised and introverted while Joy is super extroverted, disorganised and impulsive but we get along perfectly and understand ourselves.
I see Joy looking or rather "burning" down the kitchen. She is a really bad cook who loathes being told the truth. What can I say, I indulge her.
"Are you trying to burn down the whole house?" I asked coughing loudly.
"Arrghhh! I am trying to cook you breakfast for your first day back to work but I can't seem to do anything right!" She wailed. Touched, I replied sweetly " Awwn! It's okay babe I appreciate it".
"Really?" She asked softly.
"Yes " I replied. " I will just take an apple for breakfast then I will find something to eat during breakfast then find something to eat for lunch".
Joy snorted " As if you will have time , you are always nose buried in work".
" I will, I promise" I swore putting my hands on my chest in show of good faith .
" Okay" she concedes. I make my way to the basket of fruits sitting on the kitchen counter and helped myself to an apple. Taking the cup of tea offered by Joy, I make my way outside  to the black Audi R8 parked outside. Saying my greetings to the gate keeper, I drive out of my house my house making my way to work at exactly 7:30am.
I arrived at work at exactly 7:50 . I resigned from my job as a prosecutor two weeks ago to work as an attorney for a private law firm. Stones & partners law firm as been scouting me for about two years now and after a lots of deliberations, I finally agreed to work with them after taking a two weeks vacation. Stepping into the reception, I was greeted by a the receptionist a beautiful, youthful looking middle aged woman.
" Good morning" she greeted politely.
" Morning, I'm here to resume for work ". I replied softly.
" Name , mam". She asked.
    "Anita Bachor".
"Oh! Am sorry, please make your way to the fifth floor, Mr Azeez is expecting you".
" Thank you". I replied as I made my way to the elevator. Arriving at the fifth floor, I was welcomed by the secretary who directed me to a black door which I knocked.
"Come in" a deep voice answered. I stepped into a furnished work space  with a great view by the window.
" Ah! Miss Bachor, I'm so pleased to see you again. You look magnificent".
   " Thank you Mr Azeez , it's a pleasure".
" Let me show you to your office please". We made our way to the fourth floor and I was led to a decent sized office furnished tastefully.
" Here it is, Mrs Bachor".
" Thank you so much, it is beautiful".
" I'm glad you like it, I will leave now to settle down".
      " Thank you".
As soon as the door shut, I made my way to the executive chair and sat down facing the glass window and looking at the city below me. Making up my mind to start afresh, I inhaled deeply and smiled to myself.
