Performer turned Trainer

This is my OC Natalie, she's from the Unova region and grew up in the Village of Dragons [I drew her myself so pls don't credit it!]

"You good to go?" My mum looks at me, Arcanine was next to me, he barks, "I hope to see you as next Kalos queen." She stares at me, I purse my lips, "Yeah..." I smooth Arcanine's back and hop on, I never wanted to be a performer, I've already dreamed of becoming the next Pokémon Master, I had already completed the Unova League and beat the Unova Elite four behind my mother's back unknowingly, my plan was to continue my journey as a trainer through the Kalos region, "Well see ya. I'm off." I turn my head around, I see my mother folding her arms, not saying another world, "Let's go, it's not like she's going to say another word." I pat Arcanine's neck, he whimpers softly and the two of us bound off. I had raised Arcanine from when he was an egg, I saw his mother wounded in the forest after a band of Pokémon Poachers got to her, she growled as she saw me walking over to her, truth be told, I was an idiot, I was young and naive, I could have died that day.

- Flashback -

"Hi..." I crouched down and held his fingers out for her to sniff, "I'll go get some Sitrus Berries, stay here." I run off and trip over a rock, tumbling into a river, I pant and get up, running to the berry trees we had growing in the village, I saw a Garchomp guarding the trees, I walk over to him, "Please Garchomp! I need to get past!" I rest my hands on my knees, he growls, "Please! Someone's in need!" I look at him, tears pooling in my eyes, he looks at me, everyone in the village had either a Garchomp or a Dragonite, we were the Village of Dragons after all, he begrudgingly stepped to the side, "Thank you!" I give him a deep bow and grab a small bunch of Sitrus berries, I run back out as I hear his trainer walk out, "Thank you very much Garchomp," I whisper and scratch his chin, he happily chirped and I ran back into the forest, my ears pricked, "There she is! Get the egg!" I hear voices, my eyes widen, "No!" I run out as I saw them just about to hurt the Arcanine, I gasp for air as I hold my arms out, "Stop! Stay away!" I shout, they grin, "What an idiot, she's just a kid. Do you think you can hurt us kid? You're just a stupid little girl." They grin, "Go away! Get out of our village!" I turn around and run to the mother and hold the berry in front of her nose, she slowly opens her eyes and looks at me, "Here." I hold my palm out and she takes it gingerly, I saw a shadow cast above me, I quickly turn around and saw the man about to hit my head with his net gun, I shut my eyes expecting the worst when I heard him cry out and his lackeys stood in a defensive stance, "Huh?" I look up and saw the mother putting her paws over my body, growling at the men, "Wow..." My eyes widen at the fire blast she shot, it was beautiful, the three men ran out of the forest screaming, searching for water, I giggle slightly, but it quickly went south when she fell to the ground, "Hey! Hey wake up!" I shake her, her breaths were shallow, "You can't die, come on! Your egg still hasn't hatched." I shake her shoulder, her eyes open slightly and she nudges the egg with her nose into my lap, "No! I can't! Come on!" I lean on her and cry, "You can't die. It's not fair. They did this to you." I sob, I hear her growl and she licked my cheek, I stared into her eyes and I saw my reflection, the Arcanine growls softly and wraps her neck around me and her egg as I lean on her, I hear her heartbeat start to slow down, "No, you can't." My tears start to slow down, she licked her egg and me one last time before she took her last breath.

- Flashback end -

"Do you smell that Arcanine." I take a deep breath as we got off the boat, "Let's do this," I snap open my case and I look at my ribbon case, "Are you a performer as well?" I jump slightly at a voice and I saw a girl, "My name's Serena. Nice to meet you." She smiles, "I- uh..." I look at the case and snap it shut, I hear my mother's voice ringing in my head, she was the Reining Unova champion when she was in her performer years, undefeated, "Yeah." I smile but my eyes weren't, "That's amazing, what Pokémon is that?" She opens her Pokédex at Arcanine, "Arcanine, a Legendary Pokémon. The evolved form of Growlithe. Arcanine is known for its bravery and fierce loyalty. Growlithe evolves into Arcanine through its use of a Fire Stone" It speaks in a static voice, "Wow, amazing. A legendary Pokémon." She looks at him, "But that colour." She looks at him, "I know, it's strange, even I'm not too sure how Arcy here a yellow colouration, I guess that's what journeys are all about, discovering the wonders of the world." I smile, "Well best of luck, maybe we'll see each other at the Pokémon Showcase." I grin, "Yeah, oh and I didn't catch your name." She looks at me, "Natalie, but feel free to call me Nat." I smile and hold my hand out, "Well nice to meet you Nat." She nods and takes my hand.

- Timeskip -

I had everyone out, "How's everyone." I pet all of them as we were in a forest, they were all running around and having fun, I heard a loud roar and we all stopped, "Return." I hold my Pokéballs, "Noivern." "Weavile." "Garchomp." "Leafeon." "Lucario." They all return and I clip them around my waist, "Let's go Arcy." I walk forward and he was on high alert the entire time, "I know you're strong so prove it." I hear a voice, "Aren't we confident. I hope those aren't just empty words. So, what's your name?" I hear another trainer, "Alain." He says, "My name's Astrid, now I'd like you to meet my partner." The girl throws out her Pokéball, "Go Absol!" There was a bright light and an Absol appeared, "What is that." I stare closely at the two trainers, both of their Pokémon seemed to have stones attached to them, "Excellent, alright Charizard. Flamethrower let's go!" Alain brings his fist up, there was a flash of heat, "Pretty subpar hey bud." I scratch Arcanine's chin, he growls, "Absol! Use Psycho Cut!" Astrid brings her hand forward, the two attacks collided and exploded, it was a tight match but then, "I know you can do better, but why don't we show each other our true strength." He holds his arm up, I squint at his wrist, another stone, "Alright then." Astrid grins and touches her earring, there were streams of light that connected between her and her Absol's stone, "Absol! Mega Evolve!" She says, there was a burst of light, "Another evolution? But how?!" I was astounded, the light cleared and sure enough, Absol had evolved, my eyes widen, "Mega Absol, how do you like it?" She grins, "It's the first time I've ever seen a Mega Absol. Keystone, respond to my heart, beyond evolution. Mega Evolve!" Alain touches his stone and Charizard too evolved, his colouration changed to blue and black, flames spewing out of his mouth, I felt a slight connection, "But how, Charizard isn't a dragon type." I touch my chest, "This is Mega Charizard, my strongest Pokémon," He says, "It's pretty cool with that black colouring." She looks at it, "Thanks, we're honoured by your words of praise. Alright, Steel Wing let's go!" Charizard sped forwards, "Wow." He was faster than before, stronger than before, is this the true strength of Pokémon, the true wonders of the Kalos region?
