Wow! Time has flown by. Hi future self, I bet you're wondering where I am in life. It's been over a year since my last entry so I don't blame you. I've been through a lot and by "I" I mean "we."

But the only thing you truly want to know is how my relationship is going, isnt it? You are eager to know if I am still with the same golden boy from over a year ago. Yes, I am.

We've been through so much that I couldn't possibly manage writing all of it down. I just read the last two entries and times have changed so much. In fact, our entire dynamic has changed. I remember being so angry and hurt while writing that last page and I am grateful to say that writing this one brings me nothing but joy and excitement.

Remember that chick I was talking about in the last page? The one that go me so so so worked up? Well, we had a couple more arguments about it until I just had to put my foot down. I was patient and understanding always but soon he saw it for himself. Luckily. She isn't really in the picture anymore.

At this point in time, our relationship is pretty solid. I can't say I have anything to complain about at the moment. We celebrated our 3 year anniversary back in June of 2021 and you'll never believe what he did! He gave me a card and some flowers (typical) but he also got me this cheesy little mug with a bunch of hershey's kisses.

Rewind for a sec. For my 20th birthday, he got me a mug with hershey's kisses because he hadn't planned anything and was kinda broke. Let's just say I wasn't too excited with that gift. Not to say I was ungrateful, but I do admit that I was pretty disappointed because I aways go ALL OUT for his birthday and really put a lot of thought into his gifts. I felt like this mug was something you brought your friend in the hospital or something you brought your grandma. I just thought it lacked real effort and I wasn't impressed. I told him about it too, and he laughed and apologized. So now it's an inside joke. "Be careful or you'll get a mug this year," he jokes.

Back to our anniversary. He brings out the mug with the hershey's kisses and I immediately give him a look and sigh. I knew it was a joke but I was half-scared that it wasn't.

"Do you like your gift?" he asked.
I sighed again.
He threw his head back and immediately started laughing.
"You're missing a very important part of this gift."
I gave him a puzzled look.
"Look harder," he said.

I frantically searched the card and the flowers. Nothing. He kept his eyes on the mug.

After some time, I grabbed the mug and flipped it upside down. The chocolates spilled out and I looked towards the bottom of the mug. There was a folded slip of paper. Staring back at me was the reciept for 2 plane tickets to Cancun within the next month. He really bought us plane tickets.

"Is this a joke?" I asked.
He shook his head. "You don't like it?"
My eyes were still wide. "Are you serious? I love it. I just don't know how to react. It's always been my dream to have someone surprise me with plane tickets."
He smiled. "I know."

The sad part was that he really thought I would be able to get my passport within a week which was entirely impossible due to Covid and all. I started the passport process as soon as I could and got it in late July. By that time we had already moved the trip to September.

At this point in time we are planning everything. Oh! Did I mention we are getting scuba certified? Yes! Like diving under the ocean and stuff. He is so excited and I am too. It is going to be so great. Hopefully I can post a ton of pictures.

Anyways, bye for now.
