~chapter one~

"Claire!! omg i missed you so much!" Sarah yells as she runs outside to meet me in the car.
"hey Sarah!! i missed u too!" I say as i hug her.
"Soooo how long you staying for?" She asks.
"5 days.." i say in a not so happy tone.
"5 DAYS?! You usually stay for 2 weeks claire!" She says frowning.
"Yeah i know..its just i need to get home for my dads birthday. I'll definitely come up next year for 4 weeks to make up for it sarah!" I say.
"mmkayyyy fine. I forgive you!" She says excitedly.
"yayyy!" I say.
"Anyways topper and rafe told us to meet them at the beach. You can surf if you want to?" She asks.
"Yeah sure!"

~JJs pov~
"Did you guys hear about the new girl in town?"Kiara asks.
"nope. Hope shes hot though.." jj mumbles.
"JJ!" Kiara yells at me. I just laugh.
"Anyways lets go surfing yall" john b says with a grin.
"Yeah!" Pope says.
~at the beach~
"Is that the new girl surfing?" John b asks.
"Shes hot as if it is!" Jj says.
"probably is her, we should go tal- wait. shes a kook. She hangs out with topper, Rafe and Sarah ugh." kiara explained.
~Claires pov~
"yessss claire!!!" Sarah yells. As i surf a big wave. Sarah has always been the kook princess around outer banks. Since we are cousins i probably shouldn't be talking behind her back but she never has fun at beaches, all she does is tan in the sand unlike me i like to have fun and surf.
"haha, thanks sarah. anyways im gonna head back and rest. Have fun!" I say walking off.
"Okay see ya claire!" Topper, rafe and sarah say bye.

as im walking off i notice a girl sarahs been talking about and how they used to be bestfriends. She never said why but is always talking about how she was a kook but decided to be a pogue after they stopped talking. She also said that she a was a bitc-
anyways i walked past and smiled as i pasted them.
"Hey" i hear from a tall brunette boy next the girl named Kiara.
I said hey back until i realised Kiara had rolled her at me, i decided to speak up.
"Really? you really are what Sarah told me about you" i say with passion.
"Exuse you?" She says
"She said your a backstabbing bitc.." before i could finish my sentence sarah, topper and rafe run over while topper picks me up and moves me to the side next to sarah. Sarah looks at me and mouths 'are you okay' i nod my head.
"Yeah thats right topper move your little girlfriend away" john b says.
"Shes not my girlfriend bro. Sarah is. Plus, thats sarahs cousin! now piss off dirty pouges." Topper reassures john b.
"Next time keep your dog on a leash sarah." Kiara says.
Sarah just rolls her eyes.
~jjs pov~
"Well..that went well." Pope says laughing.
"Yeah couldnt have gone better." I laugh.
"JJ, pope shut up." Kie says rolling her eyes.
"Anyways lets head back to the chateau." Jb says.
"guys you know what we need to do tonight!" Kiara says looking at all 3 of us.
"what?" We say.
"A kegger!" She says excited.
We look at eachother and nod our head in agreement.
We all head down to the boneyard where most pogue partys are held. Pogues, tourons and sadly kooks turn up. But thats fine we just try to avoid them unless they come near us.
I notice sarah, topper,rafe, kelce and claire sarahs cousin turned up.
"What are they doing here.." kiara says rolling her eyes.
I couldnt stop staring at claire. I didnt know if i just wanted to hook up with her or actually date her and habe a relationship..i couldnt figure it out. All i know is she was beautiful.
"What are you looking at bro?" Pope asks me.
I didnt answer because i was staring at claire still.
"JJ!" Pope yells.
"Oh sorry what did you say?" I ask
"Were you staring at claire..?" He asks.
"Was it obvious?"
"Yeah dude."
"Shoot. Do you think she noticed." I ask concerned.
"I think shes too busy worrying about sarah drinking beer." He says.
"Sarah! Thats your 3rd beer! Whats up with you lately?" Claire asks.
"Nothing claire! Your just being to overprotective of a cousin." Sarahs yells.
"Sarah stop yelling. Stay here ill be back." Claire tell sarah.
As claire walks past she see all 4 of us standing there and rolls her eyes.
"Dont act like you dont see us bitc-.." kiara trys saying the rest of the sentece before john b covers her mouth and says "kiara chill."
Claire heard kiara and just flips us off.
~claires pov~
"Topper!" I yell.
"Yeah claire." He asks
"Can you go to talk to sarah. Shes been drinking lots of beers and keeps snapping at me." I ask him.
"Yeah sure." He answers walking over to sarah with another beer in her hand.
"Thanks" i say turning around to see a tall blonde boy whos friends with kiara in front of me.
"what" i say rudly
I could smell beer and weed coming from him. I noticed he was unstable so im guessing he was drunk and the weed just kicked in.
"Just wanted to say hi..jeez." He says.
"Well you said hi and im saying bye." I quickly turn around and start walking as i start walking someone grabs my shoulder and spins me around.
"Look.." he says but before he could say anything else i slapped him right in the face and said "dont you ever touch me again" i yell
He stood there in shock jot knowing what to say. Before he could say anything rafe comes over and asks "stay away from claire, dirty pogue." He says and punches the blonde boy.
"Rafe! Stop! Im fine please stop!" I yell and rafe trying to push him away but instead i get pushed to the ground and kelce helps me stand up and get my balance.
"Thanks kelce" i say.
Before i knew it john b,pope, topper and kelce join in on the fight. i decided i couldnt take it anymore so i ran to the beach and sat by the sand. I probably should've checked on sarah but i decided not to.

The next day
the next day i woke up and headed to the beach pretty early to surf some waves. When i got there i took of my cropped top and ripped shorts and started running to the water before i saw that tall blonde boy walking up to me.
"Hey" he says to me but i just rolled my eyes and walked up away ingoring him.
"Look im sorry." He says.
"Yep" i say not looking at him.
"No i mean it i am claire!"
"Okay! Can we just forget it!"
"Sooo you forgive me?"
"Nope" i say.
"What?" He asks looking at me confused.
"I dont wanna talk about it okay?" I say looking at him in the eyes.
"Yeah okay.." he says.
"thanks" i say.
"Sooo...how good are you with surfing?" He asks me.
"Well i dont know you'll have to see" i say running out to the water and starts surfing a wave.
"Wow..your pretty talented.." he says nervous.
"thanks! Show me what youve got!" I say excited.
"Well..okay then!"
"Decent." I say.
"Hey JJ! Oh...your seriously with her a kook?! That kook?" Kiara yells.
"Kiara please calm down." He says trying to calm her.
" im going to go now." I say running to my bag grabbing it walking off.
"Seriously kiara?" Jj tells kiara.
As im walking off i notice topper talking to another girl with his hand on her thigh. I wasnt nervous at all to confront him because his dating my cousin! but i just caught cheating!
"topper! Seriously!? Cheating? Wow..i cannot belive you topper." I say shocked
"Claire! Its not what it loo-" he tries saying before i cut him off.
"Really? Hand on thigh? With another girl. Yeah right!" I say.
"Claire...this is my sister julie." Topper says.
Julie?! I didnt know he had a sister. But he must have a good relationship with her. Anyways im a tad embarrassed now.
"Mhmm.." i say embarrassed.
I walk off to my car and drive back to my auncles and auntys house where i have been staying.
