The pastel-colored flowers that adorned the border of the floor-length mirror added a glorious touch to her pure and ethereal beauty as she glanced into the mirror. She smiled sweetly and twirled around in her white gown, laughing at her own silliness. Halting to a stop, she put a hand to her chest. Her heart's pace only seemed quickened the more she grew aware of the reality. To calm her nerves, she took an impulsive decision to take a walk around the garden of the venue. But right outside her tent, she only took notice of the worn-out shoebox when she tripped over it. With the affirmation that it was meant for hers since a label with her name was stuck on it, she opened it. An off-white veil, which was clearly washed several times, satisfied her expectations.

"Something old," a female voice whispered not so far away from her. Recognizing her mother's figure standing next to her, she opened up her arms. Her mother willingly let Jisoo crush her, for they weren't sure of the future where they could feel each other's embrace.

"It was passed onto me by my mother-in-law. She would have loved to see you in it if she was still here," her mother couldn't help the tears that escaped. Jisoo tightened her arms around. Though she felt the lump in her throat, she wouldn't ruin the atmosphere.

"I figured. It definitely looks like it has passed many generations," she joked. Her mother laughed light-heartedly as she pulled away. "Take care, Jisoo." With that, she left the girl behind. Had she stayed any longer, the tears would never stop.

A calm breeze swept over her and the strands that'd escaped from the pins her friend styled it with, danced along to the rhythm of the wind. Warning clouds that had covered the area till late afternoon had worried her, but upon seeing the beauty that was walking by, even the sun had to come out to greet her. But the leaves rustling mildly and the fresh air did little to help her nervousness that was growing steadily by each passing moment. She took in a deep breath as she made her way to the venue, careful to not step on her own gown.

She wasn't even halfway there when a hand roughly yanked her towards the sidelines. She let out a shriek and narrowed her eyes when it landed on the culprit, Jennie.

"Brides aren't allowed to roam around, Jisoo! What if he sees you?" a frown was etched on her forehead. She was beyond mad.

"Oh please!" Jisoo rolled her eyes,"He saw me when we were doing the rehearsals." Even so, the frown on her face didn't leave. "Whatever," she huffed as she fished inside her purse. When she pulled out her hand, a small pack of diamond earrings was in her clutch.

"Something new," she smirked. Her mood took a complete turn, Jisoo noted. But when the jewelry was shoved into her hands, she was only confused.

"Are we really doing that traditional rhyme?" she scoffed. "I thought mother used that as an excuse to pass the old veil to me." Jennie laughed at her apparent dislike for such traditions.

"You better hurry if you want to wear them to the wedding. The ceremony starts in fifteen minutes." Jennie pushed her towards the tent that she came from when Chaeyoung joined them. Her eyes roamed over Jisoo's figure from top to bottom. Suddenly, she let out an audible gasp as she crouched down to the ground.

"Where are the heels that I placed next to the dress?" she questioned as she looked up to Jisoo, still on the ground. Jisoo only shrugged as she smiled sheepishly. One look at them and she knew they were uncomfortable. Of course, she wouldn't wear them. Chaeyoung stood up and grabbed her hand, walking away from Jennie wordlessly.

"Chae, listen," she started when they were close to the tent. She stopped abruptly, pulling her arm away and the mentioned girl turned around. "Those heels are actually too-" her words were cut off when she felt someone bumping into her from the back. Jisoo would have thanked the heavens if it were only that. But to her pure horror, she could also feel liquid seeping into her gown slowly. Chaeyoung's hands flew to her mouth as she gasped another time when Jisoo twirled around.
