Chapter 26

"How long have I been sleeping for?" Sylvia asked Lucio, stretching her sore limps.

"Let's just say it's morning again. I'd say about a day." He replied, putting out his cigarette in the ashtray.

"Is there something in particular you'd want to do today my love?"

"We need to go to a doctor Luc. I need to make sure I don't have an infection in one of wounds and..."

"What is it darling?" She swallowed, taking a deep breath.

"When... When he forced himself on to me, I bled and I-I just want to make sure everything is okay you know." Lucio nodded, placing a kiss on her forehead. He took his phone out, making an appointment with a gynecologist.

"What time do we have to be there?" She asked.

"She's coming here darling, we're rich." Sylvia rolled her eyes, standing up to get dressed.

"You should get up from bed as well Lucio." He placed a pillow over his face groaning.

"Fine stay in bed but don't expect your red velvet cake any time soon." She stated brushing her hair.

"You sneaky little minx. How dare you threaten me, your most handsome suitor?"

"If my suitor doesn't get his ass up I'll dump him for his best friend." Lucio groaned again, getting up and putting his clothes. His arms wrapped around her waist, kissing her neck.

"I love you. " He whispered into her ear.

"I love you more." She replied, smiling.

"Let's go I wanna see the others." She grabbed his hand, leaving the room.

"By the way which one of my best friends would you dump me for?" He asked they walked to the living room.

"Liliana of course." She replied. Her steps stopped at the end of the staircase, seeing the rest of the inner circle, having a discussion.

Liliana stood up, staring at Sylvia before she started running her way. She tackled Sylvia to the floor, holding her tightly. She showered Sylvia's face with kisses. Another body dropped on them, Giovanni's face coming into view. Sylvia started laughing, hugging her friends back.

"Get off idiots you'll suffocate me." She breathed, trying to push them off her.

"No. We're staying like this forever." Giovanni said, placing a kiss on Sylvia's forehead.

"Do you want to have a threesome?" Liliana asked.

"Alright that's enough." Lucio said pulling them off Sylvia.

"Just joking." Liliana raised her hands in surrender mouthing I'm not to Sylvia who just laughed.

Lucio extended his hand, helping Sylvia stand. Antonio appeared in front of her, hugging her as well.

"Glad to have you back." He merely said.

"Now that boss lady is back when are we slaughtering them?" Giovanni asked.

"Not yet honey, let us all have a break for some time." Sylvia replied with a weak smile.

"Come on idiots we are baking a cake."

"None of us know how to bake Syl." Liliana replied.

"I'll show you it's not rocket science." She said rolling her eyes.

"Why are we even baking a cake?" Giovanni complained, as they walked to the kitchen.

"Don't ask questions, follow orders." Sylvia ordered. Once they reached the kitchen, Sylvia took out all the ingredients needed.

"Giovanni you're beating the butter with the sugar. Liliana measure and mix the dry ingredients. Antonio start on the frosting." They all got to work immediately.

"I hoped that my most fierce killers would be smarter." Lucio whispered in Sylvia's ear.

"Shush keep your voice down. I don't need them finding out they'll be doing all the work." He chuckled, as the rest of the group made the cake.

The doorbell rang, getting everyone's attention. They weren't expecting anyone at that time.

"Sylvia and I have to do something we'll come find you when we're done." He wrapped his arm around her waist, leading her out the kitchen.

"The doctor texted me saying she'll come earlier." Sylvia could feel her palms getting sweaty, she was nervous.

"Go get comfortable and I'll send her up." He smiled sweetly. Sylvia nodded walking to their bedroom. She sat on the bed and waited, her leg was bouncing.

"Hello, you must be Sylvia." A middle aged woman said, entering the room.

"My name is Adelaide. " Sylvia gave her a soft smile.

"Let's take a look at you sweetheart." Sylvia grimaced at the word of endearment. Vile memories entering her mind.

"Lay back for me and take off your pants and underwear please." She hesitantly did as told, staring at the ceiling.

"If you feel uncomfortable at any point just tell me."

"I will. " Sylvia replied.

She didn't know what the woman was doing, she only felt the coldness of her tools, as she examined her.

"I'm going to take a sample now Sylvia for tests." The woman said. Sylvia took a deep breath when the woman took the sample.

"And we're done. You can put your clothes back on, I'll just take a blood sample as well and we're completely done." Sylvia put her clothes back on.

The doctor, took out a needle. Sylvia extended her arm, as Adelaide looked for her vain.

"Deep breath." The doctor said, when Sylvia felt the prickle of the needle. Her eyes widened when she saw the needle feeling up with her blood. The doctor pulled the needle out and placed a bandage over Sylvia's skin.

"So? Is everything okay?" Sylvia asked.

"There seems to be some wounds, thankfully external, they'll heal over time. As for the burns and wounds on your other body, I'll prescribe you some ointments. I'll inform you on your test results as soon as I can." The doctor giving her a smile and writing out the prescription.

Sylvia let out a shaky breath as the doctor left. She was going to be okay, everything was going to be alright. Lucio appeared on the door.

"Everything alright?" He asked, entering the room.

"It is now."
