2. 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘺 𝘬𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯

The slow pace of Hisoka's strides made it clear that he was exhausted after his fight at Heaven's Arena. His opponent put up a difficult fight, which helped satiate his deepest desire. But still, he felt strangely empty in a way he couldn't understand. He won, of course, but he still felt this way.

He could just kill someone or pick another fight, but he had had more than enough for one day.

He walked alone and chose to go through the alleyway to get to his destination faster.

The rain only made the scene all the more miserable. His hair fell in front of his face as his hair gel lost strength and his makeup was running. The dark grey sky desaturated the vibrancy of his outfit. The thick clouds above threatened worse weather to come.

But then he spots a pitiful little kitten with its body starting to get wet in the growing puddle beneath it.

He takes the kitten in his arms and saves it from the cold water. It's quite small in comparison to him. Tiny, even. It's small enough to be held in just one of his hands.

He feels it start to purr as it falls asleep in the comfort of his warm hold. He's surprised that such a helpless creature can feel safe enough to rest in his arms.

It's grey fur appears darker on the spots that are inevitably getting soaked in the rain.

He looks around and there's no mother cat in sight, or any sign of an owner. In fact, it seems like the poor thing has been left here to die.

He starts to walk back home with the small animal in his arms. He knows how much care a kitten needs, and how troublesome it could be in the future, but he carries it with him regardless.

The kitten meows weakly as it wakes up from its short nap, and Hisoka hums in return.

Hisoka was always more of a cat person anyway.
