Wraith threw down a portal as blood ran down her face.
She breathed heavily, glancing over her shoulder.
The last one in her squad, she leaped into the Void.
Cold air chilled her skin, cooling her off from the hot breeze just outside.
Wraith lifted her hand to her face to feel her wounds.
A cut above her brow was the main cause of the red liquid seeping down her face.
Her lip was busted as well, filling her mouth with the metallic taste she hated so much.
It gave Wraith and intense feeling of deja vu that she knew she would never find the source of.
She began to walk, hoping to escape the gunfight.
Wraith found herself following the copies around her.
She kept walking and walking, until she realized that she was all alone.
Wraith turned around in a circle, looking around.
"Hello?"
Wraith called out into the Void.
Her voice echoed into the expanding depths like rippling water.
A few long, lingering moments ticked by.
Until...
"Unit 70-82-B. Advancing."
An answer responded, arcing past the realities to reach her.
Wraith stared in the direction it came from before racing away.
She had never heard such a distant timeline. It took so long to travel her way.
This wasn't a reality like hers.
She could tell.
Wraith sprinted through the void, completely forgetting that a match was going on outside.
While in the void, time passed very slowly in her reality, so she wasn't worried about missing anything.
It took her forever to reach the universe that answered her call.
Wraith lifted her arm, taking a deep breath before gathering phase energy around her arm and ripping another tear in reality.
She was thrown out of the void with a yelp.
To her surprise, the ground she hit was covered in dust. Wraith immediately picked herself up in preparation for anything.
When she lifted her head, she let out a quiet gasp.
Her eyes settled on a ruined battleground.
