Hades POV:

I walk down the steps, out of the private rooms and back into the crowd of dancing people, clothed in the colorful gleam of strobe lights. I assume everything's fine, until a guard rushes past me, towards the direction of— the private bar.

I've only been gone for fifteen minutes. There's already trouble?

And that's when I see it— his hand, on her ass, her trying to get away, his arm wrapped around her. Draven's at his other side, trying to get him off and do something about all of what I'm seeing. Even though he and the guards should've got rid of him long before he even had the chance to even talk.

Why the fuck can't they do their jobs right?

I walk over as calmly as possible, keeping my eyes trained on Athena. My steps are slow, almost teasing, as I reach their front, Draven turning up to look at me. His face drains of its color as he realizes I must've seen more than I wanted to, and the guard that rushed over is now trying to pull the man away.

"Stop."

The guard stops, and Draven freezes.

"Let go."

The guard releases his grip, and the man turns angrily, storming towards me. He's clueless of who I am, and he's too drunk to care, and he's about to start shouting, but I decide to shut him up.

My fist lands on his nose first.

Then his right cheek.

Then his left cheek.

And again on his nose.

He's down by now, and I'm on top of him— and the only person who's trying to stop me is Athena, but my guards are pulling her away.

I land one more punch, then decide to grab his collar. When I pull him towards me, his scent overwhelms me. He reeks of alcohol, and his shirt is now stained with the blood running down his nose.

I look at him, chuckle, then whisper into his ear.

"You lay a finger on her one more time, and I'll make sure you never see the light of day again."

He's trying to look at me, but he's too dizzy, and his eyes are starting to flutter.

"Don't even look her way."

With that, I let go of him. I readjust my suit, look around to see people looking at me, and decide not to care. My attention is reverted to Athena— she's staring at me in shock, but I pull her before she can say anything. "Take care of him," I say to my guards over my shoulder. We're walking out when the people resume whatever they were doing.

The walk to the car is a quiet one, and when I open the door for her, she climbs in without a word. Eyes are being kept to themselves as we both get in the car. I turn the ignition on, and the soft purr of the engine is the only thing saving us from complete silence.

I'm on the main road when she finally decides to talk.

"Hades, I—"

"That should've never happened."

Her eyes widen— probably because of the aggression in my tone. But I'm too mad to care. Because honestly, it really never should've happened.
