Lyanna Snow was born four days before Christmas, just in time for her already doting father to take her and her mother home with him to spend their first Christmas together as a family.
"She's perfect," Jon told Dany lovingly on Christmas eve as he watched her feeding their small daughter. "But not as perfect as you."
Dany laughed.
"I can remember a time when 'perfect' was the last adjective you would have used to describe me," she reminded him. She laughed again as Lyanna squeaked her protest at having the enjoyment of her supper disrupted by her father's determination to kiss her mother but that laughter was soon stilled as she responded to the love and passion she could feel in Jon's kiss.
"Do you realise that I wanted our baby to be a girl because I saw it as a way of loving a miniature version of you?" he murmured, and Dany, listening to his confession, felt tears forming as she understood just how much her husband wanted....had always wanted...her love.
Around her neck she was wearing the creamy pearls which Jon had given her to celebrate their baby's birth, and amongst the presents which had arrived for Lyanna from her aunt Margaery had been a handmade silver bracelet in an unusual design of flowers and ribbons, rather like a bridal wreath.
Dany also received from her a bouquet of flowers which she'd instantly recognised. How long ago it seemed now since she had caught Margaery's wedding bouquet, and yet, in reality, it was barely ten months.
'It didn't seem appropriate to send you this when Jon and you married; I don't know why,'  Margaery had written on the accompanying card. "But now it does. Two down. One to go..."
Dany laughed as she showed Jon the card.
"Well she may have got her way with me," she told him, "but she's not going to find it soo easy with Jeyne. She really is anti-marriage and Anti-committment. Still two out of three isn't bad."
"Hmmmmm," Jon murmured, gathering her in his arms, after she had out Lyanna back in her cot. "Right now I've got far more interesting things I want to do than talk about Margaery's manipulation of superstition."
"Such as?" Dany teased.
"Come here and let me show you..."
Lovingly she did and met her husband's passionate kiss matching his passion and response all the way.
