Horse Girl

Does everyone love animals? Well, sometimes that word "love" can turn into something else that can ruin your life.
Cleo is an 8-year-old girl who loves horses, she would never want her parents to drive her to school. It would always be by horse for Cheeky Cleo.
When it was Saturday morning Cleo rushed out of bed to go and be with her beloved horses. One who she particularly loved the best was an iced white stallion called Snowy.
I mean all of this sounds normal, right?
A girl just wants to do something she loves, but that way you're wrong. Cleo lost a lot of her friends as they thought she was interested in her horses more than them.
Cleo got home when she suddenly noticed she had trouble standing on her own two feet. At first, she thought it was nothing and thought "I'm just tired, maybe I'll feel better in the morning."
However, Cleo then noticed something else was wrong with her.

Her family was out on a holiday when someone accidentally brushed their arm against Cleo's shoulder, they apologised, but they noticed her skin was very silky. Just like horse skin.
On the second stay of their holiday, they went to the cinema and saw Anastasia. There was a funny scene in the movie and everyone started bursting out laughing. But, someone's laugh. Yes, you might have guessed it. It was Cleo's laugh, it had snickering, snorting and some horse "neighs" as well.

Cleo ran out of the cinema embarrassed. She then collapsed on the bathroom floor like she had been knocked out. A lady who was secretly a nurse gently tapped Cleo's shoulder and said "Are you ok?"
Cleo was too embarrassed to speak so she just stayed lying in that same position.

The nurse lady was called Paula and the more she examined little Cleo, she broke the news. "Umm, I'm sorry Cleo, but you know you're going to have to spend a lot more time in hospital."
Because Cleo was only 8. How would that be fair, to just spend days, weeks or maybe months in a hospital?
As soon as Cleo got to the hospital, she was told that she had a condition called Zoonosis.
What is Zoonosis?
Well, Zoonosis is when a human has animal features to them and if not treated it could become infected.
Sorry, that wasn't enough detail about the disease it's just that this is the first time I've heard it.

Cleo's older sister, Avery asked their Mum what was wrong with her. Their Mum told Avery not to worry and that Cleo will be better soon.
However, Cleo started vomiting, gagging, snickering, snorting and she had to have regular checkups for that.   Sadly Cleo's family were told to leave as too many visits will set the patient ablaze.

As they left, Cleo was in a room by herself at the hospital and the worse happened when her Mum texted her and passed on the doctor's message and said "Sweety, I'm sorry, but you know you only have 10 months to live."
As it said in the letter.
Cleo thought because she only had 10 months to live she might as well make it count. 

Cleo spent days and nights in the hospital to a point where she couldn't take it anymore and broke down into pieces.

Cleo's family could see her again and noticed she was doing much better as she was last time.

It was time for Cleo to have lunch, but she could only have fibres, soups, pasta, proteins and stews. Cleo never really complained as she chose Egg salad and water to drink.

Cleo's family left again and continued looking after Cleo's horses until Cleo gets better.

After the doctors had finished examining Cleo. The worst happened Cleo had passed away.

The doctors sent out a letter to Cleo's family and they passed it on to Cleo's school.

Cleo's funeral took place in her beloved horse stable. Everyone dressed in horse suits as they know Cleo would have loved that.

Cleo's funeral speech was "Cleo you were a very clever, but cheeky girl who loved to ride your beloved horses in the great outdoors and we will never forget when we had to move your whole bedroom into the horse stable. We love you Cleo and even though you are gone, you will never be forgotten."

After the funeral speech, there was then a picnic with lots of food and drinks. The food was on horse plates and the drinks were pink with horses on them.

One of Cleo's school friends, Bella said "It's a shame that Cleo has to miss this."
Then, Bella's Mum, Mel (Melanie) comforted her daughter and said "Oh Bella, I know you are sad that your best friend has gone. But, diseases can take over a person's life and kill them."
Bella was trying not to cry, but she just couldn't help it.

I hope this story is a lesson to all of you to never love something and become addicted to it. Because you could turn into that thing or person you're obsessed with. Remember the greedy fat chocolate lover from the British author, Roald Dahl's book, Charlie and the chocolate factory. Augustus Gloop is his name. Augustus loves candy/chocolate so much that he enters the completion to go to Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, but he falls into the deep chocolate river and gets sucked up the pipes. Then at the end, he leaves the factory and in the 2005 version he is still a human, but covered in chocolate. Violet Beauregarde, the competitive chewing gum girl in Charlie and the chocolate factory was obsessed with gum and got turned into a blueberry when she was at the factory. Mike Teavee, the TV fanatic shrunk inside the telly and came out thin.

So, it's ok to have obsessions as long as you don't go over the top with them or involve anybody else unless they want to that is.
