Y/n's pov :
I put on my black hoodie and white air forces and walked out of my small apartment to get some fresh air. I put the hood over my head to make sure that no one would recognise me, because my dad is a mafia leader and I had run away a few days ago and I'm sure his men were still trying to find me. He had kept me locked away in my room for most of my childhood and took all my freedom away. He just kept me there so that when I was 20 years old he would sell me to another mafia leader and get me married to him. Living in my tiny apartment was much better than that cold and dark mansion. I couldn't be more at peace, knowing that I have the freedom to do as I please and go out.

but that doesn't mean that the danger wasn't there. I knew he wasn't just going to let me go like that. As I was walking to the park the noise of my stomach grumbling for food took me out of my thoughts. I slid my hands in my back pocket and took out a few dollar bills and started walking towards the convenient store near the park. To my luck it was still open, I went inside the store and picked up a small shopping basket. I looked through the aisles and picked out a cup of ramen, my favourite lemon flavoured kombucha tea and a bar of toblerone chocolate. Call me a kid but that's my favourite meal. I scanned my items and paid for them and headed toward the exit of the store. As soon as the automatic door opened itself after sensing me standing there, the cold air hit my face, and the noise of wind blowing hit my ears.

but other than that it was really quiet and dark, there were a few street lights illuminating the streets. I was going to step out of the store until I decided to eat my dinner in the park, since the weather outside was amazing and I could really use fresh air, but I had to be careful that my fathers men wouldn't find me and pierce a bullet through my skull. Just the thought of it sent a shiver down my spine and goosebumps came crawling up my skin. I took a step backwards and turned around and went back to the store to make my noodles. I spotted a water dispenser and a microwave so I took a cup and filled it with water and walked over to the microwave and popped the cup in there. While I waited for the microwave to beep and tell me my water was heated I looked down at my watch to see that it was already past 10.

The microwave beeping took me out of my thoughts and I diverted my attention to the cup of water I heated. I took it out of the microwave and opened the cup of noodles and poured it in. I walked out of the store with my cup of noodles in one hand and a plastic bag containing my kombucha tea and bar of chocolate in the other. I spotted a brown wooden bench as I was walking to the park, I sat there and started eating my food peacefully. I finished everything and looked down at my watch to see that it was almost past midnight. I decided to go back home instead of taking a stroll around the park since it was late and it wasn't safe for me to stay out so late as they could be anywhere. I was really excited for tomorrow. It would be my first day in a public college.

I was homeschooled my whole life so that's why I had no friends. I was smiling by myself at the thought of making new friends and seeing a lot of people my age. Suddenly a faint noise of footsteps coming from behind alerted me. I started taking big steps towards my apartment. The footsteps got closer to me, the clicking sound got louder and faster. I looked back only to find no one there. I got scared that they had found me, my apartment was close from there but I couldn't just run there because they would know where I live that way. So I sprinted to a dark alley and hid there. The stalker didn't see my run there and I saw him walk by me, he walked straight ahead and continued to look for me while i slowly crawled out of the alley, making sure I make no noise, I walked towards my apartment slowly making sure that the person from before wasn't going to see me again.

I saw my apartment and quickly ran towards the front door and went in and locked the door behind. I stood by the door, my back facing the door and I slowly slid down while panting, trying to catch my breath. ' What if they found me?' I thought to myself. Just then I realised that I had dropped my bag pack in the alley. I decided to go back there and get it as it had the textbooks I needed for college tomorrow. I left the apartment again and was walking to the alley. I decided to take long steps so that I could get it done quickly. As I was walking towards the alley I heard a man begging for mercy. I walked around the edge to see what was happening and soon enough a gunshot echoed through my ears as a tall man with a gun in his hand that he shot the man begging to spare him came into my view. It was dark so I couldn't see his face, but he had a very muscular and slender figure.

My eyes went to the man that was shot right in the chest 'ouch' I thought to myself. His shirt was soaked in blood and his eyes were open, staring off into random space. The man turned around to find me staring at the lifeless body in front of my eyes. He took small steps towards me, I started taking steps back and got ready to run as quick as I could. I knew he did some business I didn't want to get involved with, I was still too young to be chopped into pieces and have my body parts sold in the black market. As he stepped out the moonlight let me have a clear view of his outfit. It was still too dark to see his face or make out what it looked like. The man was wearing a black half sleeve shirt with black ripped jeans. His arms were fully tattooed. Not even an inch of skin could be seen.

His steps got closer to me, I decided to just forget the textbooks and make a run towards my apartment. There was no where I could hide so I had no choice but to be followed by him to my apartment. I ran as fast a could, hoping that maybe if I was fast enough he wouldn't catch a glimpse of where I'm going and maybe I could get home safely, but oh boy was I wrong. I soon realised that my feet were just kicking in the air, he had caught me from the back of my shirt and was effortlessly holding me up as if I weigh nothing. I knew I fucked up. I should've ran away instead of staying to see what was going on. His dark chuckles took me out of my thoughts. His voice was deep and scary. "Curiosity killed your cat?" I couldn't say anything because he was right. He had a thick accent and his voice was mockingly cooing at me.

"Look I won't tell anyone, please let me go" "you think it's that easy babe" I looked back at his face to see him smirking at me. Oh how I wanted to wipe that smirk off of his face but I'm at his mercy so there's unfortunately nothing I can do. It was freezing. My hoodie wasn't keeping me warm enough and there he was standing in a T-shirt 'is this man immune to the cold?' I thought to myself. It was around 1am. I just wanted to go home and rest and be up early for my first day of college, but then here I was stuck with possibly a drug dealer... I was so not exited or anywhere near ready for what could be coming next.....
