[EDITED]

The story was from the point of view of a cold-faced omega, Cade. Cade was known as the Snow Prince due to his delicate features; the narrow cat-like amber eyes and his curly jade-colored hair that fell till his ears were more prominent with his pale skin. And the male lead, Brian, despite being a beta, was quite popular, being dubbed as Ice Prince, courtesy to the natural air of indifference that surrounded him. His midnight hair and ebony eyes making him all the more unreadable.

Brian was born in a family with a rich military background whereas Cade was from an average middle-class family. Both had poor childhoods. Cade's parents were neglectful, unable to take care of the oldest child, as their love wasn't enough to share between the younger precious outshining alpha baby daughter and the older child. The favoritism was obvious.

Brian's situation unfortunately favored neither him nor his omega twin brother. Brian's childhood was filled with arguments, ornaments shattering, and abuses hurled left and right. A single sentence was enough to spark an argument between the alpha dad who had married in and felt inferior and the paranoid beta mother. This caused Brian to despise loud noises.

In the end, his parents got a divorce, the dad taking Brian's omega twin with him abroad, leaving Brian with his beta mother. His mother, although not abusive, was extremely strict with Brian, to the point he was forced to give birth to the idea of running away at the age of 15, which he was unfortunately unable to see through due the following events that occurred. But he did sneak out, from time to time, spending hours together at the park, enjoying the company of a boy with similar experience.

As the years passed, Brian and Cade grew up to be excellent in their respective fields; Brian in building the Mechas and Cade in piloting them. They both enrolled in the Military academy, where they met. Due to their similar aura, they were consciously or subconsciously paired up with each other time and time again. After some speaking (more from Brain's side), they realized that they had met at a park in their childhood and were each other's solace, confiding in each other, their problems, secrets and childhood.

Due to his childhood negligence, coupled with his innate cold face, Cade found it hard to express his emotions. Brain too had an indifferent personality, however, the cold-faced yet hopelessly awkward omega captivated him and he fell in love.

He struggled at the start, but after some threatening asking around, he was able to interact and pursue Cade a little more freely.

Cade, who was on the receiving side of these emotions, felt complicated. He would feel weirdly uncomfortable whenever Brian came close, his heart reacting fiercely and weirdly. These feelings were foreign to him, but he didn't hate it. He'd considered asking Brian what they were, perhaps he would know?

The day Cade was planning to ask Brian, Tyra, Brian's omega twin, returned from abroad. His father, the only family member present abroad, was not very caring towards the child whom he had with his ex-wife.

Trya, after catching sight of Brian, felt an indescribable emotion well up within him, as if a bond had been unsealed. He chased or perhaps more truthfully, pestered Brian in all sorts of ways, trying to decipher the feeling. But after stumbling upon a heartfelt confession scene, he concluded that he was in love, something he was deprived of since childhood.

Brian, who at some point in time was informed by his mother that this was his twin, was not sure how to break the news to his blood-related twin and kept silent. He felt that his twin would feel disgusted knowing that he was behind his blood-related brother and might distance himself from Brian. Having his own blood-related brother avoid him was not what Brian wanted.

But from an outsider's point of view, all of this could be perceived differently.

Cade, who witnessed all this, felt a sharp prick in his chest. He knew that unlike Tyra -- who could freely smile and joke around with Brian -- the best he could do was remain stone-faced and hold what could barely be considered a conversation with him. Cade felt suffocated.

He turned around and left, taking care not to be noticed by the two. In this same fashion he avoided Brain almost everywhere, whether it be in their group projects, their usual hangout areas, the cafeteria, or anywhere he could. Slowly, Cade had withdrawn back into his shell, which had only just started to crack from Brian's painstaking efforts.

Guess it was just his wishful thinking that they were more than friends, Brian treated everyone that way. He was being too delusional, why would anyone love a defect like him, who can't even express the simplest of emotions?

By the time Brian realized, it was too late, he was very perceptive of his emotions but his EQ dropped when it came to anyone around him. Quickly informing Tyra that they were twins and that not rejecting his advances was due to this. He didn't love him and never will because they were related by blood. Brain forgot to be nice as his mind was full of Cade's well-being.

The annual mecha competition arrived. Cade, whose mental state was unstable, barely managed to scrape by. But in a certain match, distractedly, he noticed Brian or someone similar to Brian looking at a boy next to him with a smiling face. This momentary distraction in an almost life or death match was nearly fatal. Cade wasn't able to dodge the opponent's finishing blow properly. This resulted in him being in a coma, stuck to a ventilator to keep him alive.

Brian who just entered the stadium and received this news was in denial. Just as he felt that there was nothing worse than this happening to him, he received the news of his twins' passing. A note left saying, 'if even the person I loved with all my heart can't reciprocate it, I don't know who will'.

Holding some hope that Cade would survive, Brian literally lived in Cade's hospital ward, clinging onto that ray hope, after all, no one in history had died in the annual mecha tournament conducted by the military school.

But one day, when Brian was called by some teacher and tasked with some menial jobs, Cade's life support was pulled out. Brian wasn't sure if Cade's family had been unable to shoulder the exorbitant medical fees and pulled the last life support or this was just a result of someone's maliciousness. But he didn't want to know. After all, Cade was gone.

This pushed him further into despair. To be relieved of all these burdensome emotions, he took his own life.
