Some think that riding a horse is a super duper difficult task. When in reality it's quite the opposite. To ride a horse all you need to know is how you prefer to ride. Whether you feel more comfortable riding bareback, the western or the english style of riding.
To me, when im riding, i much prefer to ride bareback without any restrictions. Its much more comfortable and the horse prefers it, because theres no girth going around their stomaches of a heavy saddle across their back adding to the riders weight. When im free riding i much rather the style of bareback. When im out with friends or long rides i love to ride in a western saddle, ive ridden in both english and western saddles but i much prefer the western saddle because i feel much more secure with the saddle horn holding me in the saddle in case something goes wrong.
The western style of riding is much more laid back with the kind of western looks. Most western saddles have some sort of fancy buckles, embroidery, a saddle horn, and decatdent leather straps. English saddles on the other hand are quite simple and to the point they are normally polished and shined to perfection when you participate in shows and things. They have thin straps that lead to the stirrops, while western saddles have very detailed and wide leather straps that lead to the stirrops but with western saddles the stirrops are also covered and protected by tightly wrapped leather straps.
On the style of riding is totally your choice and your prefferances. For some people they are raised with english trained horses and once your horse is trained into a style its quite hard to change them into your preffered style. If your horse is trained to say english riding but your used to western riding its easier to learn how to ride the english style. Or the other way around if your horse is trained to western style riding and your used to the english style its easier for the rider to learn how to ride with the western style then teaching the horse all over again in which takes quite along time.
