"Thank you so much!" I said, before hanging up the phone. I got a call for an interview for a company in New York. I was so excited to be leaving the Texas limits, since I lived here all my life. My interview was in a week and I was so excited. I'm only 25, and I'm finally getting to do what I love, in such a beautiful state. I don't know exactly where in New York I'll be working in, but I was excited either way. I applied for a job to be a make up artist for people going to parties or weddings. Hopefully I can get bumped up to being a make up artists for Broadway stars. I called my mom and sisters freaking out about finally going to New York.

When I finally got to New York, it started snowing. It was so beautiful, and I was in awe. It was my first time seeing snow. Oh, how I hated living in Texas. I made my way to my hotel, and checked in. As I got settled in, I put on more layers and went outside to enjoy this beautiful sight. I jumped when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I looked at the caller ID and saw it was the company I applied for.

"Hello?" I answered, still soaking in all the beauty. "Yes, hi. Is this Demi Lovato?" The voice said. "Yes, it is." I said, flatly. "This is Mr. Jones. The head of the Office of Beauty." "Ah, yes. Hi, Mr. Jones." "I was just calling to let you know that tomorrow morning I had scheduled you to do a Sweet 16. The daughter and 5 of her friends are in desperate need. The parents are offering to pay you a lot of money, here, Demi." My face lit up. "Of course I'll do it!" I was trying to contain my excitement. "Okay, good. I will send you the information." "Thank you so much." I said, before hanging up. A few minutes later I got an email with all the details. I was so happy I have my first clients tomorrow.

I could barely sleep that night, I was way too happy to sleep. That morning, I went to the address that Mr. Jones sent to me. I was so nervous that these girls would be these snotty teenagers, but they weren't. They were so nice, and chill. I had so much fun hanging out with them and doing their makeup. I honestly didn't want to leave.

Apparently at her party, the birthday girl had given me a shout out to everyone, since Mr. Jones was giving me way more jobs to do. I was thrilled. My name was getting around so fast. Soon enough, I was able to buy a house in New York. I couldn't be happier with my life right now. I honestly believe coming to New York in the winter, and finally getting to see the snow fall, was my good luck charm. Maybe that's why I've had such bad luck in the past, since I was living in Texas where it never snows. Now that I'm in New York, where it snows every winter, my luck is starting to change.
