Yazmin & Tamiko- Family Dinner

Tamiko POV

I was chillin having a good day or whatever when I get a call from my mother. I looked at my phone confused but I answered

Tamiko: Hello?

Mom: Hey Tamiko, it's your mom.

Tamiko: Yh ik, why are you calling me, what's wrong?

Mom: Oh nothing, I was just calling to check up on you.

Tamiko: You haven't "checked up on me" in 4 years, why the sudden call?

Mom: Well I actually called to invite you to dinner.....with us.

Tamiko: Why?

Mom: Well you know.....I miss you and stuff and I just think that we should catch up.

Tamiko: Um.....ok lemme think about it.

Mom: OK great, well, see you soon. Bye

Tamiko: bye.

Mom: lov-

I hung up before she could even say it because I'm not tryna hear no bs. 

The reason that I was so confused that my mother called me is because when I was sixteen, I decided that I would come out to her because I didn't think she would have a problem, but oh boy was I wrong, you see what happened was.

I came home one day from school and I went up to my room then I took out my phone and called, Yazmin, my girlfriend and I told her the plan.  Yazmin said she was so proud of me, and that finally she would be able to come over and be introduced as my girlfriend. Sadly things didn't end up the way we wanted, instead of Yazmin and I cuddling in my bed and watching movies, I ended up on the sidewalk with 3 suitcases and a hoodie drenched in sweat, tears and a whole load of tears. I called Yazmin and told her what happened, she told me her and her mom was on their way. Tbh, I was really close with my momz so I didn't think she would react this way. My brother was about ten when all this happened so he probably don't remember what happened. Anyways, when Yazmin and Ms. Renata arrived I couldn't control my tears Bae and her mom had to pick me up of the side walk and put me in the car, tbh I felt weak, I had a pounding headache and my eyes were hurting. They put me in the backseat and Yazmin came and laid my head on her lap.

Ms. Renata: You can stay with us as long as you like, Tamiko. 

Tamiko: T-T-T-Thank You, Ms. Renata

Ms. Renata: Anytime, love.

That's basically it. We still live with Yazmin's mom. She let us turn the basement into our own lil bedroom/ living room or wateva. We still go upstairs to cook and stuff.

I was driving home from work when I got that call and it just confused me. After all these years she wants to have dinner with me. I am in a better place, I proposed to Yazmin a few months ago and I was living my best life. 

When I got home, I kissed Ms. Renata on the cheek then I went downstairs to get Yazmin. I dragged her lazy ass up the stairs and I sat her down, then I told them about the phone call.

"So what you gonna do, are you gonna go?" Ms. Renata asked

"I'm gonna go but I'm taking ya'll" I told them.

They looked at me in shock.

"Why?" Bae asked.

"Cause, I wanna show her that I got the best mama-in-law and the best wife in world" I said kissing them both on the cheek.

"When is it ?" Ms. Renata asked.

"Sunday" I said.
