His hand was in clasped in mine for support. I walked on the train tracks, trying to balance on one of the beams as he walked beside me making sure I wouldnt fall. He looked up at me while I talked about my day.
"So what are you doing later tonigtht?" I asked looking down at him. Ryan looked up at me and smiled. His blue eyes sparkled in the sun, his olive skin turning slightly more dark in the sun.
"Well I was hoping we could hang out tonight?" I jumped down and walked beside him. His arm linked around my waist, he pulled me closer to his body.
"Of course you can". I said. He looked away frowning.
"What?" I asked. He looked back at me.
"You know my mom does not like you." I frowned remembering what happened the last time i went over to his house and his mother was in the same room as me.
"Then pick me up at 8 and we can go bowling or something." He smiled.
"Okay its a date then." I smiled back at him. we continued walking side byside in silence. After we got back to the parking lot i climbed into the front of the truck.
"So ill pick you up at 8?" He asked me climbing into the front seat and puled the door shut. I did the same.
"Ya. I need to get ready." I explained. He started the engine and pulled out of the parking lot and onto the road. We drove in silence, just enjoying the music i had flipped on as soon as the car started. Ryan pulled up infront of my house and cut the engine. i unclipped my seat belt and leaned towards him. i kissed his check and opened the door. i slid out of the car and turned around so i was facing him. i smiled and said goodbye then shut the door. i watched as he waved at me then drove away. i stood where i was untill i could not see him any more, then i turned around and went into my house.
"Mom! I'm home!" i yelled. i took off my sneakers and walked into the kitchen looking for her. i grabbed a rootbeer from the fridge then ran up the steps.
"mom?" i called out again.
"im in here!" i heard her respond. i walked to the bathroom and saw her getting ready for work.
"Late shift again?" i questioned. she looked at me trhought the mirror. she pulled her hair out of her blue shirt and into a bun at the top of her head.
"Yes. are you going out?" she asked me. i nodded.
"Okay well text me when your home. i may be doing something for a patient but ill know your at least safe." i smiled at her.
"of course mom. Have fun at the hospital." i said as i walked back to my room.
"I always do." she called back. she walked down the steps. I sat on my bed and took off my socks.
"Okay sweetie im off. Have a good night. Dont stay up too late." i rolled my eyes.
"I wont mom." i yelled back. she walked out the door leaving me alone.
I took a shower, brushed my teeth and my hair, got dressed and walked down stairs and sat on the couch waiting for Ryan to come. The whole evening went as planned untill 7:45. i sat on the couch looking at the clock, waiting for him to pull up in front of my house. soon it was 8:10 and i was looking out the window.
"where is he?" i questioned out loud. the phone rang. i jumped up and grabbed it expecting it to be ryan."
"hello?" i said. a voice came on the phone. and it was not ryans.
"Scarlet Johnson?" the voice was a womens in her 30's.
"Yes?" i answered. nerves spiking. what she said next was the thing that broke my heart.
