That Fateful Night

Chapter 2

Lizzie's Pov

I'm lying in a strange bed with light shining in my face and I can hear the sound of people talking around me. All I know that this is definitely not my house, and I'm hoping that Joshua isn't here, will not yet anyway.

"Who are you and what am I doing here?" I asked the person to my left, I try to move my head to see them better but it hurts to move it.

"Please try and refrain from moving your head you have hurt it quite badly, I'm Doctor Shepherd and I'm head of Neuro here, you had a nasty accident with a tiled floor and badly concussed yourself and have a large wound on your head." They answered.

"What happened Elizabeth?" another doctor asked.

"Me and my husband had an arguement and I fell on the floor trying to clean up the vase that I had smashed." I lied trying to cover up for Joshua.

"Okay, thank you Elizabeth we will leave you alone so you can get some rest." Doctor Shepherd said before leaving the room.

I couldn't tell them what really happened, they probably wouldn't even believe me. They would probably think that I am some sort of attention seeker and put me in the Physch ward. And even if they did believe me what would I do about Joshua? He would probably say that I was lying or he might try and kill me. Which normally would be a joke but with him I wouldn't even be surprised if he did. Well I mean I couldn't be surprised anyways because I would be dead.

Who brought me into hospital because no one is here with me and I certainly didn't drive or even walk here myself? Unless I somehow managed to walk here while I was unconsious, which I very much doubt. And it can't of been Joshua because he would be in the room with me now making sure no part of my fake story would portray him as the villain. I really doubt that any of my neighbours brought me here because I think I have only talked to them about twice and I don't even know their names.

And then my question was answered. Scarlett walked over to where the doctors were standing right outside the door of my room. I could see their mouths moving but I couldn't make out what any of them were actually saying to eachother. But I knew that it can't be good news because Scar's face looked quite scared, and it looked like the doctors were reassuring her about something. All I wanted to know is what they were actually saying to eachother.

Scar's Pov

I talked to Doctor Shepherd and explained Lizzie's position about her work and the kind of stunts that she sometimes has to do, and she told me that Lizzie will have to take at least a full month off work to let her head fully recover and too prevent further injury. And she isn't allowed to lift anything really heavy and too avoid really stressful situations for at least 3 weeks, as it could cause major migraines/ headaches.

I just couldn't understand how Joshua could do something so horrible to Lizzie. Lizzie is the nicest, kindest and funniest person I know. Sure she has faults, but no one is perfect and no one deserves to be abused by anyone, let alone their husband. It's not Lizzie's fault she is infertile and their is possible ways around it, but he is just too self centred. He is the problem in that relationship, not her.

"Lizzie, I know that you are scared but you need to try and get out of that marriage, and that house as soon as physically possible and I will help you with anything and everything that you need, just call me anytime. You can move in with me for as long as you need too." I told her

"You would really do that for me?" She asked.

"Lizzie, I would fly around the world for you if you needed my help." I answered honestly.

"Thank you Scar, I honestly don't know what I would do without you." She said

"It's okay Lizzard, it's what best friends do, we always look out for eachother no matter what." I said smilling before carefully wrapping my arms around Lizzie.
