The Burned Down House

The next day came around and I wake up looking and I made my way to the window to look down at the dirt path where the shadow figure stood last night. I thought to myself " was it a dream?" i look around no sound of the wind hitting the tree's no sounds could be heard from the city either. I turn around and Crimson wakes up and looks at me in a terrified look.

"what's wrong Crimson?" i asked. 

"Something isn't right can you smell it?"

Axel sniffs the air, usually there would be stench of oil and exhaust fumes from running cars from the city that you could smell from the forest but it was gone.

"hey Toxin, Chaos wake up something is wrong."

Chaos wakes up as Toxin just continues to sleep.

"what is it?" chaos says cranky and tired like.

"do you recall anything happening from last night?" says Axel

"honestly, no what happened?" Chaos says confused.

Chaos looks out the window and looks to the sky as the sky was dim as if it was in a apocalypse state. no birds could be heard not even the sound of the people in the city.

Toxin finally wakes up and looks at the rest of us.

"what's going on?" he asked 

"We honestly don't know" said crimson.

"i'm gonna go look around Chaos come with me Toxin please watch over Crimson while we're out."

Toxin agreed and watched Crimson while Chaos and I went into the city to investigate.

a couple hours past and there was no sign of anyone trees that used to have leaves had died flowers were dried up and the there was no one in site. 

"what happened to everyone?" Chaos asked.

"The Dark figure from last night must've done this." i said looking at the ground.

Not to long after investigating part of the city they started to wonder why all the houses and buildings were abandoned and no one was around. 

"hey maybe mom and dad might be around still let's go ask them!" i said knowing that they'd have the answers.

We walked 3 miles from where we were to go back home and as soon as we got there our house was burned as if there was a fire but the weird part was that the house looked like it was caught on fire 7 years ago but how could this be? 

"Hey Axel Look what i found an old news paper"

The news paper was dated a day after their graduation the title said "Angry town burns family of 6 burned alive." and the wording on the paper was faded and the pages were brittle and tearing little by little.

"Our home is burned, the city's people are gone and everything looks like its be lost and forgotten but why only us 4 survive it?" asked Chaos.

"I don't know..." Axel said in a unsettling tone.

not far from where they were they both hear a women scream and they both run towards the scream to see what was going on.

The Women was running towards Chaos and I but she looked familiar as if i knew her.

"What's wrong?!" Chaos yelled. 

All of a sudden things Stopped but i was able to move. "what the?" all of a sudden the shadow figure appeared.

The shadow figure looked at me and started to walk towards me as blood was dripping from his arms. The shadow figure stops a couple feet away from me and points at me again like he did last night.

"why did you send us here? why is our family dead and why can i move and not my brother?!"

The shadow figure speaks "you ever wonder why people treated you and your family so different?"

Axel raises an eyebrow from curiosity. "because people hated us why?"

"go to the center of the city underground where the library collapsed into the runway where metal carts on tracks used to be you'll find your answers there..." as he disappears vanishing into the air.

"Axel are you okay?" as Chaos was able to move and speak.

"Axel?" The women speaks as she walks up to me to examine me up closer.

She smiles at me as if she knew who i was. "do i know you?" i asked

"it's me Glen from School i thought you two died in that fire many years ago."

as i looked at glen, glen was the girl i talked about before the one with the caring voice but she looked older.

"Where's everyone? and why was our home on fire?" asked Chaos.

i explained to chaos to what just happened and what i was told to do.

"so we need to go into the city to find a library in a fucking subway tunnel?!" Chaos looked at me as if i was out of my mind.

"you both can't go the city has been taken over by things from not from this world." said Glen

"What kind of things?" i asked 

She points at a body that she was screaming about that was her lost long friend that had been stabbed in the chest 28 times. 

"they call themselves The lost and they live in the city most of us are in hiding but nobody has seen you or your brothers for years and yet you look like you 2 haven't aged why is that?" said glen.

in the distance we here barking and growling and voices in the distance they were coming back.

"WE NEED TO HIDE!" said Glen scared 

The only place they could hide was back at there old burned home so we ran back and hid in the basement of my house.
