"Please aaliyah, just one more time!" you look up from the cards you're holding to meet Gus's fear-stricken face and sigh "your fate isn't just going to change because I've read it for the 5th time" you sate bluntly. The empathy in your voice now tired out from repeating yourself.

He looks so upset that if looks could kill you'd wouldn't last a minute in his gaze. But there isn't really anything you can do, if there's anything you've learned from your 17 years of reading... fate is Rarely changeable; you've only ever seen extremely rare cases where a person has done something so extreme or unexpected the universe shifts the said person fate accordingly. And certainly not because you've redone the same reading 100 times.

"If it makes you feel any better, there's no guaranteeing it will actually pan out like that just because I think it will" you reassured. Gus simply frowns to your reply obviously not happy with your response "you have an 87.99% accuracy rate EVERYONE KNOWS YOU HAVE A 87.99% ACCURACY RATE" the boy badgered at the top of his lungs, pulling eyes from all around the market to focus in on you.

You give Gus a few reassuring pats on the back, not knowing how else to comfort him in this situation, this why you always insist your clients think long and hard about getting a reading before they consent to letting you do it, to avoid situations like this one here. The poor boy was now sniffling down his tears hard, how Awkward. He's correct though your accuracy may not be as high as your mothers but it is indeed 87.99% accurate, and with your mother now retired you're the most accurate seer in the Boling isles. You had nobles and commoners alike to come here what secrets fate whisper to you.

You processed to spend the next hour trying to calm down Gus, when you finally feel as if you've done the best you can you wish him the best luck, and take your leave, stopping at a few stalls to see if there's anything your mother or siblings would like. 'GEEZ' you groan to yourself whilst walking away from your last stall "All he asked was if he'd get to see the human realm" This interaction was especially draining for you, you've always been very sensitive to people's emotions, so when people have outbursts as dramatic as that one, you always feel piratically tired.

All your mind could focus was your bed, you wanted your soft fortress so badly it almost hurt. Luckily for you, you lived less than a 5-minute walk from the market, as the top of your house came into sight all you could think of was the relaxation you're going to have as soon as you step inside. "I'm going walk in that house and make the best chamomile tea the world has ever seen, and then completely bury myself in my teddy be- huh??" your ever so relaxing train of thought is interrupted when you see a teenage boy in a white cloak facing the entrance into your house. Even with his back turned to you it was obvious who it was, you quickly duck behind one of the trees on your property thank god you're a little distance away from the door.

You'd seen him around a few times before, heard about him too. You've heard many names for him; "The palaces Golden hound" "Belos right hand" "the Golden prodigy" and your personal favorite shared to you by your good friend Luz "a bad but sad boy" which you snicker about every time you see him passing in the market. But of course the name he goes by is the "Golden guard" ...and what exactly was he doing blocking you from your day of relaxation?

"yeahhhh no I can't be arased for this right now" you mumble to yourself as you start to turn on your heels, he hadn't seen you yet so you figure the best thing to do would be to text Luz and retreat from the situation as quickly as possible, whatever the reason was of him being here it can't be good news. Just as you pull out your phone to execute your plan you hear a mocking voice howl at you "So you leave me waiting allllll this time and you aren't even going to say hi aaliyah?"

You pause in your tracks and look over your shoulder, he was still facing your door did he sense your presence? And on top of that how did he know your name? And why is his voice kinda hot!? But now is not the time to seem dazed, you turn sharply towards the masked boy and put on your best smile. "Can I be of service to you sir?" you say with all the confidence you could muster as you bow ever so slightly. There was no point in running now.

The guard turns to face your direction, you could sense his heavy smirk, "oh my" he jests lifting his gloved hand to his mask in amusement "what confident words from someone who's plans were to retreat" He's mocking you and just oozing with pride and cockiness, it was kind of getting on your nerves. "What do you want?" you reply bluntly, as attractive as he is He's really pushing his luck.

"Aww, well aren't you spunky?" he coo's back at you "so serious.... so formal" he chuckled a little to himself and shrugged "I suppose it does make sense; I am here on business after all"

"business?" you inquire back "with who exactly?"

"Well, who else but with emperor Belos?" your heart sunk when you heard the name, but you keep a straight face "it's been in the town gossip that you inherited your mother's gift of seeing, with fairly high accuracy rate. But of course," he smirks "that's town gossip I would like to try you out myself first, wouldn't want to be a fake to the emperor now do we? And to be honest" he pauses, his tone shifting entirely "I don't believe you're worth the emperors time".

"Is it just me or did that sound like jealously?" your mind ponders at you. "And what if I was to shoot down your offer?" you inspected. Your response takes boy aback slightly "shoot down my OFFER?" he rises an eyebrow at you remark "There is NO offer, you're coming with me...unlesssss" he places one hand on his hip and the other on his mask, pretending to ponder over another option.

"why I don't know...would you want me to bring your siblings as well? I can't say the emperor would be as welcoming towards them though" his threat stops any thoughts you had of rebelling all together.

"What do you need me to do?" you grunt in defeat, "now that's a good girl, was that so hard? I say we've wasted enough time here we should take haste towards the palace" he takes out his staff as he talks "you can prove yourself to me when we get there, then if you live up to all the talk we'll request your audience with the emperor, does that sound good?" He gestures for you to come over to him as he sits on his staff. As you walk over all you could think was

"what an obnoxious assho**"
