the one that got away

Part 1

*10 years later*

*At the beach*

A grown up little guy was sitting while enjoying a peaceful view in front of him. Suddenly...

"Koko Mix, nenek suruh pulang makan!" yelled a 5 years old kids while running towards him.

('P'Mix, grandma asked you to go home and eat')

"Ya, ya, ya kejap koko balik." said Mix while get up and walking towards the little boy who is waiting for him under the tree. Before that, Mix give a last glanced at the sunset before leaving his favourite spots.

('Yes, yes, yes, wait a minute I will go back.')

Since the first time Mix was back at his hometown in Kuala Penyu, Sabah, the beach is one of Mix favourite spots. Every evening Mix will go to the beach where located at the back of their house precisely at the back of their grandparents house. While walking towards their home which only takes 5 mins of walking, the little boy with Mix was suddenly asking him.

"Koko, Koko.." ('P..P..')

"Hmmm..?" said Mix

"Mamy bilang besok Koko Mix mau pulang Kampung Koko? Ini bukan kampung koko kah?" asked the boy curiously.

('Mamy said tomorrow P will go back to your hometown? Isn't this your hometown?')

"Ehh.. Mamy cakap begitu kah? Hahahaa Memang ini kampung koko juga, tapi besok Koko mau plg kampung yang jauh.. Jauh dari sini." explained Mix

('ehh.. Mamy said like that? Hahaha that's right this also koko hometown, but tomorrow koko need to go back to koko other hometown.. Its far away from here.')

"Tapi kenapa? Nanti tedalah kawan Bryn pigi pantai petang-petang hmmmm" said the boy a little bit sad in his face

('But why? Later no one will accompany Bryn go to the beach at the evening hmmmm')

"Alalalaaaa adik koko sedih kah? Koko pulang juga bha jangan risau Kan ada koko sama jie jie lain boleh kawan Bryn kan?"

('Awwhhh my little brother is sad isn't he? P will go home also don't worry.. There's also other P's can accompany Bryn right?') persuade Mix again. After that, both of them arrived in front of a house which is not so big but its cozy and filled with laugh and tease.

"Bryn, Mix masuk pigi cuci tangan kita makan." tell a pretty woman, she's not so old but her wrinkles can be seen, not tall not even reached Mix height, but has a very warmed smile and heart.

("Bryn, Mix go to wash your hand and then we eat.")

"Ya nek!" both said in unison.

('Yes grandma!')

*In a living room*

"Mix, bila Mix balik sini lagi oyo?" asked the old lady

('Mix, when will you come back here again son?' -oyo: means son in a pampered manner.)

"Hehe, Mungkin kali nie Mix lama sikit disana nek. Mungkin kalau nasib Mix baik Mix jumpa kerja sana Mix kerja teruslah sana nek. Satu kali teman-teman dorang Ahkong sama Ama disana." explained Mix

('Maybe this time I'll be stayed there longer grandma. If I've a good luck and get a job there maybe I'll stay there and accompany granddad and grandma there.')

"Yalah, lama juga kamu tidak pulang sana kan oyo.. 10 tahun suda banyak kamu lalui. Kesian bha cucu nenek yang satu nie. Kalau pulang sana, jaga diri baik-baik. Jangan bergaul dengan orang sembarangan. Jangan lupa lawat-lawat keluarga kamu juga arh."

('Yes, you haven't been back there in a long time. In this past 10 years there's so much you've to endure. So poor my little boy here. If you go back there, take a good care of yourself and don't forget to visit your family there ok.')

"Ya nek, Mix ingat juga nanti Mix kasih bersih kubur dorang mamy disana."

('Yes grandma, I'll remember later I'll go to clean mom and others graveyard.')

"Yalah, malam sudah nie. Awal sikit rehat besok Panjang perjalanan nanti penat kamu. Kasih kemas-kemas apa yang patut. Jangan lupa balik sini juga arh oyo."

('alright, its already late night go to rest early, you've a long way to go tomorrow. Just packed what you need and don't forget to come back here also yeah son.')

" Bha eya nek, nda juga Mix lupa pulang sini jangan risau. Kan Mix sayang nenek, sayang keluarga disini. Mana boleh Mix lupa kamu disini. Tolong jaga pantai Mix ya nek, sama kesian Bryn tolong tengok dia juga" Said Mix while hugging his grandma.

('Yes grandma, I'll comeback here don't worry. Mix loves grandma so much, Mix loves all of our families here how come Mix forget you all here. Please help me to watch the beach and pity Bryn please look after him also ok grandma?')

"Pasal Bryn jangan risau, kamu hati-hati. Nenek pigi tidur dulu ya. Goodnight Mix" while kissing his grandson cheek.

('About bryn you don't have to worry. Grandma go to sleep first, goodnight Mix.')

"Goodnight nek." smile to his grandma before he saw his grandma was closing his door.

Bryn was his beloved little cousins, who lived beside their house. Mix is leaving with his grandparents due to some accident occur. Bryn was leaving with his parents and other siblings but he was very closed to Mix than his other siblings. Bryn was the smallest cousins Mix had so Mix really loved him like his own little bother. Other than Bryn, Mix also have other cousins who aged nearly same with him or older than him.
