Chapter One - New Beggining

-Dan's POV-

"Dan... DAN!!" I woke up to screaming and I rolled over revealing my mother in an apron and pancake batter on her cheek.
"Dan wake up, its your first day and university today!" She said clapping her hands and smiling widely at me. I groned in response and rolled back over, cuddling back into the duvet.
"mmmm don't wanna......" I said into the pillow.
"Well tough shit Dan, now come on, I made pancakes especially for you! You have an hour then we are leaving!" She half yelled and walked out the room.
I rolled over and slowly pulled the covers off myself and walk past the mirror and look at my reflection.

Ew.

I trudged down the stairs to see my mum, dad and little brother, Adrian, already sitting at the table eating.
"Hey," Adrian said when I sat down. I groaned.
"Thanks for the sunshine," he giggled, making me smile slighlty and budge his arm with my elbow. That's what I love about Adrian and i's relationship. We never failed to make each other laugh even when the other feels like shit.
"Looking toward to uni?" He asks me, spooning some pancake into his mouth.
"Not particularly," I said dull-ly. He gave me a sympathetic look and came closer to me.
"Dan, nothings gonna happen. You are gonna make amazing friends and have an amazing Time I just know it! You might even meet a special guy" he winked as I scowled at him and continued eating.
"Thanks ade."

-half an hour later-

"DAN! GET IN THE BLODDY CAR!" I hear my dad yell at me from downstairs. I groaned and got up of my bed grabbing my backpack, which had all my essentials in it. Such as my phone, laptop, notebook, chargers and last of all a picture, of me and my best friends Jessica and Chloe at our year 3 disco. I haven't seen Jessica is a quite a few years though...
I wipe my cloudy eyes and sling my bag over my shoulder and run downstairs and rushing out the door. I got to the car and everyone was already in it so I plopped my self in the back with Adrian and we slowly reversed out of the drive way.
Here we go.
No going back now.

-30 minutes later-

"Muuuum, how long till we are theeeeere?" Adrian whined as he squirmed uncomfortably in his seat.
"Not long Adrian, just be patient!" Mum replayed and Adrian moaned and put back in his head phones while I sat there staring out the window, watching the country side wizz past when I heard Adrian humming along to a song I recognised. Then he started singing. Adrian has always been a really good singer.
He is very into music, much like me. That's another reason why we are so close. We used to do shows when we where younger for our parents. I smile at the memories that come flooding back to me.
I nudge his arm and give him a look as in to say 'what you listening to'

He understands and takes out one of his earphones and I put it in my ear and instantly recognise it as Uma Thurman by fall out boy. I smile at him and he returns the smile. I was the one to introduced him to fall out boy now he is pretty much addicted.

-an hour later-

We drive up to the school and my heart stops. Its huge and intimidating. I take a huge breath out and get out the car, soon followed by my mum, dad and Adrian.
We haul my suitcases out and we stand at the car.
First up is mum who attacks me with a hug, almost cutting of my breathing.

"Please be safe, I'm gonna miss you so much Danny," she said says into my chest. I chuckle quietly pulling her away from me to see a stray tear rolling down her face.
"Mum I'm not dying! I will come visit as much as I can and I will call you every week," I say comfortingly and wiping her cheek to get rid of the tear. She nods and steps back. My dad tackles me in a hug bear hug.
"I'm so proud of you Dan. Please be safe." My dad says quietly.
"I will" I say looking up at him. Then Adrian.
We look at eachother and his face drops and he runs at me swinging his arms around me. I hear him sniffle into my jumper.

"Please don't go. I need my big brother to keep me sane with our crazy parents, I though I would be okay but... WHO AM I GONNA PLAY MARIO CART WITH AT 3AM AND WATCH ANIME AND PLAY MUSIC LOUDLY WITH!?" He cries into my shoulder. I stroke his hear caringly.
"Shhhhh ade its gonna be okay!! I will visit as much as I can and I will call you as much as I can okay? And if you are going insane I can use my telepathy skills to send you waffles and it will be okay," I smile and he laughs, sniffing.
"Thanks bro." He says wiping his face. You see, adrian likes to act tough and doesn't cry very often so I was shocked by this. He pulls away and smiles. I return the smile before grabbing my suitcase and backpack and stand back watching my family drive off into the distance while I stand their waving.
I turn around and look at the huge building in ground of me.
I mumble to myself before walking in,

"Well this is gonna be fun."
