Chapter 3 - Dinner

-Dan's POV-

Me and Alfie where on our way to the front of the building to meet his friends when my nerves got the better of me. I was never good at meeting or talking to people. Never mind new people. We got there and we sat a bench just chatting about random things. Alfie told me about his life back home and I told him about mine, leaving out the personal bits, obviously, when 3 people came towards us and Alfie stood up to greet them. I just sat their like a useless bag of potatoes.

You are useless.

It was a metifore!

I know but your are useless.

Shut up!

You can't run away from your thoughts Dan.

"Dan?" Alfie said nudging my arm. I blinked and looked at him. "These are the people I was talking about, this is my girl friend, Zoe." He pointed to a small girl with ombréd hair and a black knee length dress. She smiled and waved slightly. I smiled back. "This is Emma and her boyfriend, Luke." He said gesturing to a couple, a girl with bright red hair and a big welcoming smile and a guy about my height with gingery-red hair.
"Hey!" They said in unison. I waved awkwardly. Then he walked over to the most beautiful guy I had ever laid eyes on. With shiny, ebony hair and bright blue eyes. I felt my cheeks growing redder and redder by the second.

"And this is Phil, I think you two would get along well." He winked and smiled. I scowled at him, I told him I was gay earlier, at the bench, and he said he wasn't homophobic, which I was more than greatful for. Is Phil gay? I thought in my head.
"Well, come on! We've got dinner to eat!!" Luke hollered and we all set of to the resteraunt with Zoe and Alfie in front holding hands, Luke and Emma walking just behind laughing about something, then me and Phil at the back in silence. I decided to speak up.
"So, em..... How are you?" I said and cursed myself for being so awkward. He looked up.
"I'm good, had a test to revise for last night so I didn't get any sleep," he giggled.
"Oh, what are you studying?" I ask curiously, he looks like he would be ins something really smart.
"English and psychology, what about you?" He said proudly.
"Law..." I answered quietly. He giggled and asked,
"Law? No offence but I thought you would do something better, like music or something, you look like someone who would do that." I laughed quietly.
"Thanks," I say sarcastically. He laughs back.
"No problem."

We spend the whole journey there talking about what bands we like and what games. Surprisingly me and Phil have a lot in common. When I asked him what his favourite band was I almost had a heart attack when he said muse. He reaction was my mouth making a perfect O shape and my screaming 'REALLY!?' which resulted in us laughing so hard our stomachs hurt. I really like this guy.

-at le resteraunt-

"Table for 6 please." Zoe said to the waiter and he sat us in a little stall with me, Phil and Luke sitting on one side and Zoe, Alfie and Emma sitting on the other side.
"So what you guys having?" Emma says cheerily.
"I think I will have the steak with mashed potatoes and a coke." Alfie said.
"Me too," Zoe says. Emma looks up and nods.
"I second that," she happily says. Me and Phil where deciding what to eat and having a little conversation and the same time.
"So what you having?" Phil asks me. I bite my lip, trying to decide.
"I dont know it all looks so good," I say dreamily. Phil hums in agreement.
"I'm getting the beef burger with fries and a salad, the burgers here are amazing!" Phil says jumping up and down like a kid. I laugh at this and decide what to have.
"Yeah I think I will have the same but without the salad because ew ,vegetables." I fake gag and he loff,hs.
"Awesome,"

We all order and I get to know everyone. They are all so nice. I'm glad I know them. We finish up and leave home for the night. Phil offers to walk me to my dorm since Alfie is staying at Zoe's. I refuse but he insists. We got to my door and I turned around to face him.
"Thanks for walking me Phil, wanna come in for a while?" I ask politely. He frowns and shakes his head.
"I can't, sorry I need to devise but tomorrow I'm free is you wanna hang out? We could play Mario or rock band?" He asks. I smile widely and nod my head vigorously.
"Sure!" I say and he asks me for my phone number so we can arrange times and stuff. He keys in my number and I key in his and we depart.

I flop onto my bed, head buzzing at the thought of seeing Phil again. I was interrupted by a buzz on my bedside table. It was a text from Phil. I smile and open it.

From Phil:
Looking forward to tomorrow!! ;)

To Phil:
Yep! More looking forward to whooping your ass at Mario kart B)

From Phil:
Yeah right howell I will win so hard you won't even know what won ya!

I giggled at his inoccence.

To Phil:
Did that even make sense? xD

From Phil:
I don't think so xD

We chatted for hours and hours until I yawned and texted him once more.

To Phil:
Sorry Phil, gonna go get some sleep now, see you tomorrow!! X

From Phil:
Awwwwww NAWWW okaiiii ;( night night bear I will text you for when you wake up :D Night!! Xx

I smile at the cute nickname he gave me and plugged in my phone and turned it off, snuggling into bed and drifting into the best sleep I have had in a while.
