Chapter 17

Ayanokouji POV

Today was the start of our Spring Break and when it ends we will go back to the battlefield as 2nd years. With our victory at the last exam, things will get more rough especially since Tsukishiro is going to interfere with the exam. 

Currently I am at a Café waiting for some, while waiting I'm reading a book that Hiyori recommended to me a few days before the last exam happened.

A few minutes have passed and I noticed that someone sat at the chair across me.

'So she finally arrived.' I thought to myself. I lifted my head to look at the person in front of me and saw that Hiyori was sitting in front of me. Our eyes met at the same time and she started to speak.

"Good afternoon, Ayanokouji-kun. Sorry for calling you out, you must be busy."

Hiyori spoke as she took a sip from a cup of coffee that she must've bought before sitting in front of me.

"It's okay, I wasn't busy or anything."

"I see, how's the book that you're reading right now, Ayanokouji-kun?"

Hiyori asked me this question as she placed down the cup on the table and took a book from the bag she brought and opens it on a page that was bookmarked by her.

"The story is interesting, it's well paced and the character development of the main and especially side characters are going well."

Hiyori released a smile as I gave my thoughts on the book that I was currently reading.

"We have the same thoughts Ayanokouji-kun."

Me and Hiyori continued talking for a while, our topics ranged from books, authors and sometime to about our class situations and its future. Talking to Hiyori wasn't bad at all, it's more like she soothes the physical and spiritual body of the person she is talking to, it would be an understatement to call her an angel at this point.

An hour and a half have passed since the start of my conversation with Hiyori, while we were still talking Hiyori takes her phone/Student ID out from her bag and looks at the time on it and then speaks to me.

"I have to go now, Ayanokouji-kun. I have stuff to do back at my room. Even though it was me that invited you, I'm the one leaving early. Sorry about it."

Hiyori wore a sad expression on her face as she stated that she would go back to her room right now.

"It's okay, it must be important plus you took some time off your schedule today to meet up with me so it isn't a matter of you apologizing to me, it's more like I have to apologize to you instead.

"You don't need to apologize Ayanokouji-kun."

Hiyori stands up and prepares her things to leave as she tells me not to apologize.

"Bye Ayanokouji-kun, see you next time."

Hiyori bids her goodbye to me while I nod at her. Slowly, Hiyori figure couldn't be seen anymore due to the students walking pass the front of the café I'm in at. I then bookmark the current page of the book that I'm currently reading and stands to leave the café.

I strolled around the campus as I was bored and wanted to feel the breeze. It was currently in the afternoon and is nearing sunset so slowly less and less people can be seen walking around. I then remembered that I'm running out of essentials so I head towards the convenience to buy what I need.

As I'm heading towards the convenience store, I dive into my thoughts recounting the events that took place in this school so far.

I came here with the intention to have a peaceful life while learning what's it to be free. But my goals were added when Horikita and Chabashira-sensei interfered with it, next Sakayanagi makes her entrance and announces her wish to defeat me and Ryūen plays hide and seek with me to which I won and lets not forget the fuss with Kushida. After that, that man  declares war to me and starts it by replacing Mr. Sakayanagi with his own pawn. To get rid a lot of my troubles to have a lot of pawns at disposal, I directly join forces with Sakayanagi by transferring to class which not only benefited me hugely but also destroyed my wish to have a peaceful life. To think wanting to live peacefully could result in these events, what a great life.
