"I....failed?" I meekly said into my empty room as the video that I expected to welcome me into UA said otherwise. I felt tears rush to my eyes and I rubbed them away quickly. I reached to shut the hologram off, only for it to continue talking.

"That being said young Y/n, you may not have scored high enough to enter the hero program, the board has considered allowing you to be on the support team, creating and tinkering to help the heroes. Should you take our offer, please attend class this coming Monday." The voice of All Might, the number one hero in Japan boomed loudly. The hologram finished and went dark, leaving me stunned and speechless.

"I...I can still go. I can do something with this quirk. Something useful." I whispered into my now silent and empty room. I picked up my go phone to tell my parents about what had happened. After a few minutes the dings of their replies filled my ears. A message from my mother, stating how proud she was, and one from my father, mentioning for me to be respectful when I entered the school.

I wrinkled my nose at my fathers comment. I was always respectful to others, even when I wanted to scream and shout. Nonetheless I accepted his advice and began to pack my book bag for the upcoming school day.

Once I had everything I need, I placed the bag on top of my desk. Then I laid out my uniform on my chair, making sure not to wrinkle it. I got changed and snuggled into my blankets. The faster I slept, the sooner I would be at UA. As I began to fall asleep, I hoped that my classmates wouldn't be too horrible, and the work wouldn't be overwhelming.

I stepped out of the cab that had taken me to the front of UA. I stood in awe at the prestigious building, intimidating and inviting all at the same time. My knees trembled and did not allow me to take a single step. I felt frozen in place. Deeps breaths. In and out. Feeling calm, I managed to take a step. And another. And another until I was in front of the classroom labeled 1-A. I frowned and thought 'Isn't this the hero class?'. Nonetheless I opened the door and squinted at the bright light.

"H-hello?" I squeaked out at the room of unfamiliar faces. A homeless looking man in a sleeping bag turned to face me. 'Oh my god that's EraserHead, he's my teacher? That doesn't make sense, I'm supposed to be in the support class.' My thoughts raced a mile per minute.

"Welcome. Everyone listen up, this is Y/n L/n, class 1-A's personal engineer. Treat her with respect and be nice. That means you Bakugo." The pro heroes gravelly voice rang out in the classroom. A blonde male with red eyes scowled at his teachers words and gritted his teeth. He opened his mouth to say something when a red headed guy beside him put his hand on the blondes shoulder as if to calm him down.

"Get your hands off me shitty hair before I blow them off." Bakugo said with a deep frown. The other male laughed and leaned back in his chair, looking at me with curious eyes. I waved at the class before whispering to the hero next to me.

"Excuse me sir, but I didn't know I was going to be a personal engineer....I only learned the basics in a middle school course. I thought I was supposed to be in support hero course?" I questioned as politely as I could. The man let out a hm before answering me.

"You were, but the other teachers agreed with that ferromancy quirk of yours, it would be best if you worked closely with our class of upcoming heroes. Rest assured you will have support classes, but that will be when 1-A is training for battle." I nodded at the explanation, though deep down I felt that I didn't deserve to be among these future heroes. But I bit my tongue and waved slightly to my new fellow classmates.

The red haired male from before waved back along with the rest of the class, save for the blonde named Bakugo. I smiled and took the available seat, which happened to be next to the red haired male in question.

"Hey there! My names Kirishima, I heard Mr. Aizawa say it earlier but your quirk is ferromancy? What's that?" He questioned with a sharp toothed grin. I stared at his teeth in surprise for a second before responding quietly. "Well, it means I can bend and mold metal. I understand why being an engineer was the logical decision for the school to make. It's a smart use of my quirk." I said as I went on a small tangent. Kirishimas red eyes widened in wonder.

"Woah! What a manly quirk, mine is called hardening, it lets me make my skin hard as a rock!" He exclaimed loudly. I giggled lightly at his enthusiasm and replied "Thanks, yours is pretty...manly too?" The male then brought out a bracelet and handed it to me. "Does that mean you could bend this bracelet with your quirk??" I felt for the typical magnetic waves that metal gave off and found none. I furrowed my brow and tried again. Still nothing.

"I-um, I'm not sure how to tell you this, but this isn't metal....it's a heavy plastic." I said after hesitating. I hoped this didn't embarrass the poor guy. Kirishimas face contorted in confusion for a second before he let out a loud laugh.

"Guess that guy at the market duped me huh? Oh well, still looks cool, so I'm winning." He said in between laughs. I smiled shyly at him, tucking a lose strand of hair behind my ear.

Perhaps school wouldn't be the worst, if there were more people like him.
