[I know it is really annoying to start off with an author's note, trust me I've been there. But you might want to read this all the way through. For informational purposes.]
One's childhood should be lived to the fullest. It should be full of laughs and playful nature. Not screams and malicious intent. You should play tag with your friends at school. Not be forced to survive this hell known as Nevada.
Somewhere in Nevada... A small child knows this all too well. Their father tells them he came here for work. But they know better than to believe him.
And over time, they have learned that Nevada is no place for a child. You can't go anywhere without the A.A.H.W. breathing down your neck. Mass shootings are common. Moving is sad and heartbreaking when you have to leave your friends, but it shouldn't be this miserable.
The child prefers to be ignorant of the carnage around them. They strive for bliss and favors to not look at the hell around them. This way of living has its perks. But after being caught in the crossfire of a mass murder, maybe being ignorant wasn't the best choice.

The reader is written as genderneutral and the entire book is written in second person, so pronouns will be rarely even mentioned.
You, (the reader), are around five-ish and are very clever for your age. You try to be innocent even if you're not.
This isn't romantic. It's PLATONIC. Do you hear me? P-L-A-T-O-N-I-C. If it was romantic, I would rather kill myself than write it. That's disgusting. Like seriously gross.
Warning. This book contains foul language, death, heavy blood/gore, violence, dirty jokes (most of which come from Deimos, and he gets smacked for it),- Look. It's Madness Combat, alright? It contains some pretty fucked up shit. And if you're sensitive to that stuff, why are you even here?
In all seriousness, this book will most likely contain dark themes of loss, guilt, and abuse on top of regular Madness Combat stuff. If you're sensitive to any of that stuff, please do read with caution or leave. This book is NOT meant to glorify any of this. Do not do anything similar to what happens in this book. I wrote this for fun. Not to promote violence.
I am bad at writing personalities that are not similar to my own. I will often get characters wrong. Soooooo hard out of canon warning.
Anyway, that's all I wanted to say. If you made it this far, thank you! Y'all have a wonderful rest of the 24-hour cycle. And until next time, byyyyyye!
