It’s finally Wednesday and how do I spend my day? In my room, watching shirtless Luke work out in the backyard. That V in his back and those pectoral muscles has me drooling. He doesn’t wear his hat today because it’s really hot, but he still looks handsome. Luke’s jeans hang low on his hips and he puts my dad to shame. Dad is heaving and has sweat staining his shirt and beard. Dad’s face is face and he takes more breaks then Luke.

Mom brings them water every now and then, making sure they don’t die out here in the heat. I swear Luke knows I’m watching him. It’s not like I’m making it obvious. I’m sitting by my open window, playing some music, while writing in my journal. There’s quite a nice breeze outside. It’s not like I’m sitting by my window with binoculars or a camera. I mean, I wouldn’t mind a picture of Luke’s sweating body on my phone, but I’d rather it be more of a close up.

When one song came on the radio I couldn’t help but dance. I’m still seated, but still dancing. I’m moving my arms and head. I hear laughter before I look out and see Dad and Luke watching me. Dad is belly laughing and Luke has a smirk, leaning against a rake he was using just a few moments ago. I wave sarcastically at the guys and Dad waves back. My dad goes back to work but Luke doesn’t looks away. I swear he winked at me, but I’m not sure.

As time passes I put away my journal and just enjoy the breeze coming from outside. I text Dianna and inform her about Luke. She hasn’t had a chance to meet him, but she did see a photo on my phone with him, Holly, and me a few years ago.

“Hey,” I answer once Dianna calls, knowing she wouldn’t settle for a simple text.

“Okay, tell me everything!” she exclaims on the other line. And I do, making sure not to speak too loud so Luke can hear. “He sounds so hot Sky! And nice! And the perfect man for you. Do you know where you’re going on your date tonight?”

“No,” I answer, getting up from the window seat and collapsing on my bed. “But I don’t care as long as the date is with him.”

Dianna sighs. “My girl is actually finding a man.”

            “I had guys in college.”

“Not long term guys. Just guys that you wanted to make out with. I’m glad you found someone though. You deserve a nice guy Skylar.”
