Chapter 3

I had saved a long time for the trip I was about to take and everything was ready. I had told my boyfriend at the time that I was taking a two week vacation to Korea because I wanted to attend BTS's last concert before their World Tour came to an end. He wasn’t very happy about me going to a foreign country all by myself, and honestly I could care less since I gave him the option to join me and he declined without even considering it. This would be a long flight, but I was okay with it. At least I would be able to get some rest after the huge exhibition I had just finished.

Watching Seoul through the window, I felt excited for this grand adventure I was about to undertake. My happiness was short lived when I noticed my friend wasn’t at the airport to pick me up. After multiple attempts to contact her, I finally came through and wanted to know if she was delayed. She told me her parents were against her going to the concert and wasn’t going to allow a foreigner to stay under their roof. Not wanting to cry, I looked around for any sign of where I could go and my Korean was very rusty. The bustling traffic of people made my head dizzy.

It was like a scene out of a K-Drama. Where the two main leads pass each other in slow motion. For a split second I had forgotten what I was busy with but the voice on the other and quickly made me regain focus. I started to panic because my accommodation fell through and I was stuck at a airport, in a strange city. “You can’t do this to me! What am I supposed to do now? I have nowhere to go!” Sorry is all I heard from the other side. I put my hands through my hair, trying to figure out what to do next. Then I heard it. A voice. The tone was low, sort of soothing and I turned to see a man, tall (around 6ft I reckon), olive complexion (from what I could make out).

He was wearing a mask and a beanie. But those eyes.. I recognize those eyes. He was talking but I couldn’t hear a thing. My delulu mode kicked in and I knew that there was no way he was who I thought he was. “Excuse me miss.. are you okay?” he asked and all I could muster was a uh. His eyes narrowed from what I could gather was a smile. “Yaaaah!! Namjoon-ah” I heard coming from behind him and my attention went back to him, but my head was fuzzy. “Kim Namjoon” I whispered under my breath, trying to make sense of what was happening. The other members had gathered around him, enquiring who I was. Me, big eyes and gaping mouth, mind on 0, didn’t know how to respond (because things like this don’t happen to me). He asked me if I was okay, because he couldn’t help but overhear me on the phone about me not having any accommodation and I told him who I was, where I was from and what had happened. “It’s settled then!!” Jin said.

“You’re coming with us” Everyone was looking at Jin and Yoongi said, “Well, let’s get going then. I’m tired and I would really like to sleep”. And just like that, I ended up leaving the airport with BTS.
