His smile was breath taking. We had made small talk and every once and a while he would look over and flash me one of his smiles.

Apparently we were the same age, Twenty seven, and the best part is we're both huge book worms!

Talking about books we like and dislike seemed to pass the time easily. Suddenly he let out a large yawn, causing me to yawn along with him.
"You getting sleepy?" He questioned.

"Are you?" I counter.

"A little I guess." He replied. "But we're in the middle of nowhere. We can't just stop here where would we sleep?"

"Well you could lean the seat back and lay there or you can lay in the bed of your truck." I state.

"Humm.... never thought of that. okay then." with that he pulls the truck over.
As I lean my seat back I slip my hoodie over my head and pull my hood on. Removing my glasses I place them on the dash board, and lay my head down.

"So. if you don't mind my asking, why are you going to Texas?" William question me.

"I have some...... personal business." I reply in a hushed voice.

"Oh, I get it. If you don't want to talk about it that's fine." he replies in a reassuring tone.

"Well night William." I yawn.

"Night Opal." he replied.

Slowly my eyes fell shut as my imagination took over and ran my mind.

I felt my dreams start to fade and reality set in. Man my bed is not so soft. as my eyes flicker open I look around.
I wasn't at home! wildly I swing my head from side to side.

That's right, I remember now. I'm hitch hiking with William. reaching up onto the dash board to grab my glasses I place them on my face.

I turn to look at William but he wasn't there. my heart beat started beating faster and I opened my door to look outside for him. as I open my door and step out a car goes flying past the truck. with a yelp I slam my door shut quickly. as I look out my window I see no cars coming so I step out of the car. with only the sound of trees blowing in the wind I could hear a light snoring coming from the back of the truck.
Walking to the bed of the truck the snoring becomes louder. I peek my head over the side and see William laying there.

I let out a small giggle as I scamper up the back I the truck and poke his face.
"Pst! William!" I poke his cheek. "William we need to get on the road!"
Slowly he sat up an rubbed his eyes.

"Hey there." he said stretching.

"Hey to you to. We need to get on the road though." I replied in a hurried voice. "You know you didn't have to actually sleep in the bed of your truck. It's probably not even as comfortable as a real bed."

"Why are you in such a rush?" he whined.

"Because I only have two days to arrive in Texas, today is one an tomorrow is two." I say panicking.
"Only two days? okay, okay so let's hurry. We can stop at the next gas station, change, get gas, and something to eat." William said jumping out I the bed of the truck.

I go to follow but me being as graceful as I am slipped.

Luckily William caught me. I looked into to his eyes and, and. . .
Haha you thought I was serious didn't you? haha nope. . .

Before William could reach out a hand to help my I hit the ground.
William coves his mouth with his hand trying to hide his laughter. That didn't quite work.

As I stand up and dust myself off William walked around to his side of the truck and gets in.

"Come on slow poke!" he yelled out the window.

Dashing to my side I yanked open the door and slipped into the truck.
"Ready?" he asked.

I nod in response an William starts the truck. I had only met William yesterday yet I feel like I've known him for a long time.

About ten minuets latter we made it to a gas station. As we were pulling in the truck begins to slow down.

"No, no, no, No, NO, NO!" William exclaimed as we ran out of gas. Lucky for us we were only about ten or fifteen feet away from the gas pump. As we slip out of the truck William groans and mumbles profanities under his breath.

Using all of my strength I push agents the truck. With mine an Williams strength combined we were able to inch it forward. Finally it could reach the pump. I reached into the car grab my bag and walk into the gas station.

When I find the bathroom I quickly change and go to the restroom. as I exit the bathroom I spot isles of candy and drinks. walking over I grab two bottles of water and two bags of those tiny donuts. I pay with what little cash i had, and walk back out to William.
I extend a hand that held a water bottle out to him. He looked at it with a puzzled look on his face.

"Are you mocking me because you bought water or something?"

"Take it." I tell him.

Hesitantly he grabbed it from my hands. "Thanks."

"No problem, I grabbed a few bags of those mini doughnuts that we can split later if you want."

"You can go sit in the truck, I'm just going to use the restroom real quick."

William walked past me after setting his water bottle down in his seat."

I nod in response and slide into the angry red truck. I sat there in the heat munching on the doughnuts.

Soon William returns from the restroom and I set the bag in his lap.
"Huh?" He gave me a questioning look.

"Just eat them." I tell him.

"Thanks!" He happily scarfed them down like he hadn't eaten in years.
I let out a small giggle as he stuffed his face. I guess he herd me because he stopped eating, turned red, and looked away.

"I'm sorry for laughing." I tell him. "I just thought it was cute the way you were eating!"

This only causes him to blush more and look away. Still looking away from me he closed up the bag and put his hand on the steering wheel.

"Let's get going." He says still sounding embarrassed.

I smile as I look straight ahead and nod in agreement. "Okay."

An hour later we found ourself in a city on a highway. Suddenly I get a text on my phone. It was from Isabella, it was a picture. As I unlock my phone I start to laugh at the picture.

It was a picture of Isabella and I wearing big heals, long dresses, and makeup when we were little. I burst out laughing at the sight. William gave me a weird look but became curious.

Grabbing my wrist he attempted to look at the picture. With the wind blowing from the window into my face caused me to become blind for a moment.

In that moment William released my wrist, and with me still resisting my hand flew out the window along with my phone. My grip on my phone loosened due to shock and I felt the phone fly out of my hand.

I let out a shrilling, ear piecing, scream.
My phone had just gone flying out the window and had been run over by the car behind me. That wasn't good. . .

"M-my phone" I cry.

"Di-did that? just-?" William asked as just as confused as me.

"Yah. . . it did," I replied "oh shit"
