(A/N): Back at it again, baby (ok, I promise I'll try to actually update this)
HERE WE GO ୧(>ヮ<)୨ *:・゚✧
Tuesday | Y/N's Perspective:
You strolled down the empty sidewalk, warming up your forearms with your hands as you forgot to wear your school jacket today. After a while, your hands were starting to get cold too, so you stuffed them back into your pockets. You hung your head, staring at the cracks in the ground passing you by, the concrete occasionally lighting up as you walked by the illuminated street lamps, your shadow appearing for only a few seconds before disappearing into the shadows again.
You were walking home from your cousin's house and it had already gotten pretty late. You had missed the bus and preferred to take a late-night stroll, meaning you would pass by UA again. There was something about the night sky, the comforting darkness, the countless stars that speckled the sky that were farther than you could imagine. The silence, the cool breeze - which sometimes got a little too cool - and best of all the moon, shining down on you like it was proud of everything you achieved today, a smile tugging at your lips.
You stopped walking and turned your head to admire UA. It was lit up with decorative lights, and was honestly quite enchanting. Your head was filled with memories from your current school year; happy ones, sad ones, traumatic ones, embarrassing ones and everything in between. You sighed - not an annoyed sigh, but a content one. You were happy with what you had achieved so far, yet still you were growing impatient as your relationship with Bakugou was going absolutely nowhere.
You were taken out of your thoughts as a screech from up ahead startled you. It sounded like an animal in distress, making you unsure whether to investigate it or avoid it. It could be dangerous, a feral dog or some sort of rodent, but something in your heart pulled you to that dark corner of the street. So, grabbing out your phone and turning on the device's flashlight, you sneaked closer as the animal in question continued to howl. What was it? Was it hurt?
The closer you got, the more it sounded like a cat of some kind. Was it lost? Or a stray? You didn't get many strays in your area, in fact you've possibly only seen two in your whole life. You knelt down, only an arm's length away from the feline. You shone your phone at the ground in front of you both, so the light would bounce off the ground to reveal the creature's silhouette, not wanting to blind the poor thing.
The feline was small, but too big to be a kitten. It shivered in a pile of clothing; spikey, unkept tuffs of ash-blond fur pointing in every direction. It's crimson-red eyes piercing into you, giving the cat a feisty aura, yet still looking so helpless and afraid.
Not wanting to come off as a predator, you knelt down lower to the ground, only then realising the poor environment in the area surrounding you. You reached your hand slowly and calmly to the cat's face, letting them sniff you as a form of trust. The cat's face approached your pointer-finger, lightly booping your second knuckle with it's nose before returning back to it's original position, tucking in their paws for warmth.
What were you going to do? Obviously you weren't going to just leave them out here alone, it could be starving, or severely injured! You looked around for anyone who might be able to help you out, but decided on not wanting to talk to strangers in the middle of the night. Turning back to face the bundle of fluff, you spread your arms on either side of the cat, opening your hands and slowly inching closer to it. It seamed to notice and figure out your plan, biting your wrist that was closest to it's face.
You hissed quietly at the sudden jab of pain and retracted your arm, but decided to grab it quickly before it could get away. The cat growled and squirmed, until you held them in a position that was stable and comfortable, doing everything in your power to make sure the cat doesn't fall.
"Hey! Calm down- I'm trying to help you! Hey- it's alright, I've got you, I'm not gonna hurt you or anything. Oi, stop-" You knew you were talking to yourself, but its not like anyone was watching you. After a while the feline gave up struggling, relaxing in your arms and sinking into your body heat. You switched off your phone's flashlight, fumbling to try and stash it away into your pocket again, carrying on your journey home with your new companion. You plan on taking the cat to the Vet first thing tomorrow, as they would have shut hours ago by now. You need to know if it's hurt, or already has an owner, but for now you just have to focus on the walk home. As you walked back along the path with the new companion in your arms, you failed to notice how the small pile of clothes were strikingly similar to your own UA Uniform.
You followed the familiar rout to your house - it was a small place, but one you were proud of. You lived alone, your mother staying in your childhood house and your father too far to visit much. Life was nice and peaceful as sometimes you got sick of people, but you had to admit it was lonely sometimes. You had thought of getting a pet, but just couldn't find the time, and whenever you did stop by the pet store to say hi to the animals, there weren't any that particularly stood out to you. Maybe, if it turned out this cat didn't have an owner, they could stay with you for a while...
You stopped outside a pale door with a simple yet cute design, and almost had to juggle the cat in your arms as you fumbled for your keys. You slotted in the newest looking key, and turned the door handle. You were exhausted, you social battery had to be in the negatives or something. You were practically thanking the gods you got to eat a decent meal at your cousin's house as there was no way in hell you were gonna cook anything.
You set your school bag down, still holding onto the cat. Under your living room light, it was much more visible just how bad of shape the creature was in; mattered fur was clumped with dry blood, some fur noticeably missing and a couple scars here and there. gently laying the cat down, you rushed over to your laundry and ran warm, soapy water in a small tub. Had it been in a cat fight? No, this seemed worse than just any fight...
The gears in your mind turning as you headed back to the living room, seeing the cat had barely moved and still sat shivering on the end of your couch. They seemed a lot less feisty now, the occasional bite here and there, but it was a lot easier than you expected to get them in and out the tub. Scrubbing them was a different story, but after the small bath they looked much less matted, almost every speck of blood had washed out and you gently combed through the remaining knots with your fingers. You rolled them into a small burrito, and carried them back out to the lounge. They were probably starving, but obviously you didn't have any cat food on you because you weren't expecting to get a new friend so soon. So, you grabbed out some cold leftover chicken from your fridge you were saving for another night, ripped it into smaller parts and dished them out into the smallest bowl you could find. You placed it in front of the now-dry-and-un-borittoed cat sitting at your kitchen tiles; they were still weary of you, of course, but didn't run away when you showed them the food.
You moved away to give them space, and started your nightly routine. When it was time for bed you looked for the cat, gently scooping them back up - They didn't seam to struggle as much thankfully. You saw the empty bowl, picking it up and leaving it on the counter for future-you to take care of. You still had to find more out about the cat, hell you didn't even know what gender they were, or if they already had a place to call home. You would hopefully know soon, as the vet was the first thing for tomorrow's agenda.
