Dark shadows raced past their line of sight in a hazy blur. An obnoxious high pitched ringing played deafeningly in one ear. Uneven mounds were piled up across the ground, the ragged terrain causing their feet throb scampering across it. Their chest ached from their uneven breaths and pounding heart.

They dove behind the remains of a wall to hide for a short while, pressing their back against it as they tried to catch their breath and calm their heart even if it was by a minuscule bit. They hated how hard their heart hammered against their rib cage in sheer fear, as if wanting to be set free from the shackles of life. It only made their head spin.

Blaring noises came from practically everywhere as they pushed themselves further into the cramped space. For a brief moment they held their breath in anticipation, muttering to themselves and counting down from three before leaping out, immediately colliding with something. They felt their mouth open yet not a sound came out.

Suddenly their stomach dropped, the familiar terrifying feeling of falling before their vision faded out and turned black.

"..."

"...N)..."

"(F/N)!"

You took in a sharp breath as your eyes shot open in an instant. The harsh lighting at your sudden awakening brought immediate pain to your eyes, your retinas not agreeing with the sudden extreme change in brightness. Eventually you managed to keep your eyes somewhat ajar as you sat into a more comfortable relaxed upright position and took in your surroundings. You were a bit befuddled by the fact that you found yourself outside on the grass under a tree rather than in the comfort of your own room. Surely you would've remembered to sleep indoors rather than out, but then that would leave the question of how in the world did you get here?

"(F/N), are you alright?"

You jumped back in fright only to harshly hit your head against the rough bark of the tree trunk your back was leaning on. It didn't help the fact that you had woken up with a splitting headache. Rubbing the back of your head trying to soothe the pain, you glared off in the direction the voice came from yet was startled by the fact that you didn't immediately notice this person sitting beside you when you first woke up. Heck, you didn't immediately recognise them at first when you did take notice of their presence. Perhaps their hair blended in too well with the outdoor environment for you to spot in your dazed state. Yeah, that was definitely it.
